Great explanation. I got a better understanding of dharma, this ideology of inclusive truly affects a person even for someone who doesn't know about it. as if i have conflict with someone I'll try to solve this peacefully instead of hostility if i view them as me. The caste today exists because of some people wanting more power. Fundamentally caste was a way to categorise working people and people go from one caste to other often, but this became a fixed classification later on to what it is today to consolidate power. We are just undoing those setbacks.

Yeah, dharma is one of my favorite ideas from Hinduism, at root about our interconnectedness with everyone and everything, and our moral responsibility to live our lives in service, as we too are sustained and supported by everything around us. Again, reciprocity.

If you are a dwarf you accept that and take to the activities that fits you. Instead, if you aspire to be a basket ball player your dharma fails! All have a Dharmic disposition as you are born as a man who is denied to bear a baby but bestowed to take to the duties that is allocated to you! If you are cast in a drama as a villain, your dharma is to play the role as well as you can as you are cast!

There are some mistakes. The caste system was implemented forcefully by Britishers - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caste_system_in_India The caste system has nothing to do with any religion or dharma, all civilizations had a caste system except India. Dharma means acts that sustain a society or civilization in a larger context. At the same time, Brahmavad is a major issue in India. Many Hindus still think in terms of Jatis.

Hi. In the Wiki article you cited, it states that the caste system has its origins in ancient India, which is what I said. It's all through the Bhagavad Gita where Krishna discusses the four major castes or darshanas. The imperial British may have exploited this system for their own gain, but they didn't invent it or impose it. I'm particularly puzzled by your claim that "all civilizations had a caste system except India." Wait, what? But I appreciate the comment and your willingness to engage.

Not even a little? It seems that many voices and sources in India do think the two are interwoven. Dharma, when seen through the sociological lens (having to do with social structures and human purpose) seems to bear directly on doing your duty, and living the role into which you have been born. This dynamic exists in all cultures. Confucian China comes to mind, but really, this sort of class consciousness is found the world over.

@@PeterBolland Respected sir, actually nowhere in any of the text caste is based on birth rather on qualities and there is no concept of second class citizen....... जन्मना जायते शुद्र: संस्कारात् द्विज् उच्यते| Meaning- By birth everyone is Shudra(what nowadays called as lowest among 4 castes); it is only by purification, enrichment & education one becomes a Dwija (knowledgeable)” Dwija means born again- meaning change in one’s mind & soul! Extended form It says that every one is born as a Shudra, Through Samskaaras you become Dwija, By studying Veda you become Vipra and only by knowing the Brahman (the ultimate reality which is ever present and the saxshi of all) and through whom all apparant existence appears, one becomes Brahmana BTW your lectures are really insightful, I just wanted to correct somethings but at the end it is not your fault even here people think it is based on birth (British confused varna and caste with other and translated the books)........ @@PeterBolland Ved vyas , valmiki , and many more people who wrote the mahabharata , Ramayana, geeta are born in a shudra family but were considered as brahman after they attained the knowledge , even Valmiki who wrote Ramayana was a dacoit ..... Also there are literally no record of caste based discrimination in india by any foreign traveler or Indian texts predating islamic invasion, it was all started after the islamic invasion and further distorted by the British........

U were wrong about caste system. More precisely it was more ignorant and divided words given by Europeans when they came to india (and for what, u know that as well) and at the same time they were right. How? In geeta and vedas (not many English translations), the authors wrote what they heard so far. In hindi translations and in original it indicates so called "castes" are divided by supreme not by birth, but by their actions and types of work/duty performed in life. Like we divide today's society by profession businessman, ..... But what happened with it changed by duty to birth and excepted it as original. And nobody talks about it because it is diluted many parts of sanatana dharma for many thousands of years. Thus creating boundness in society. It is true if, u go deeply through scriptures, can easily find it and many many stories as examples. And geeta part 5 which u made, clears misconception of dharma and caste in that. But by the way u make such good videos. I appreciate that and loved ur content and its hard to find about what historical figures saw and thought about self realisation and seeking knowledge of wisdom. But through ur videos I have learned a lot man and again keep up the good work.
