Just wanted to say how much I am appreciating your videos, Peter. Just hearing your thought process as you play is so so helpful. Also, a short walk and a glass of water before playing... maybe the best advice I've heard this year! Keep up the great work. :)

Bd.1 Same auction. In BBO that spade finesse always seems to lose.So tried the ace and a low spade.West, not knowing about the fifth spade, ducked! Now picked up the diamonds discarding a heart, eliminated the hearts and threw west in with the spade king for the overtrick!

On board 1 I had the same bidding. I won the lead in dummy and ran the jack of spades, diamond shift, drew trumps, cashed the top diamond and king, ace of hearts, ruffed the last diamond and exited a heart hoping to endplay west. East won with the queen and returned the queen of clubs, west played low letting me make. I think your line of play was better.

Different scores for me on boards 1, 4, 5, 7 this week and a few different auctions to the same score. I ended up quite similar with the 62.50% overall score. Board 1: I opened 1S and bid 3NT over 2S and played in 4S but got the H lead not the D. I won the HA and finessed the SJ losing to the SK. Now W breaks the diamonds, but with the D6 to the J and A and I pull trump. Double dummy West would be squeezed on the run of trumps, but in the real world I played for diamonds 3-3 or the club A onside, and when neither occurred I went -1 for -50 and a completely flat 50%. Board 2: I opened 1D and only rebid 4D but partner raised to 5D and same +600, 71.43% Board 3: Same auction, exact same play of cards, +170 and 53.57% Board 4: I opened 2NT and got raised to 3NT. I got a club lead, played H to the 9 and T and there was a spade switch. I won the A and played another H up which W rose A and cleared H. I now took the diamond finesse, losing and W cashed the 13th heart. But now I could play for the 3-3 diamonds and ended up with 3C, 3D, 2S, 1H for 9 tricks and +600 for 57.14%. Board 5: I followed the same auction of passing the 3334 hand and defending 1NT. I switched to hearts instead of spades and only ended up setting it 1 trick for +50 and 50%. Board 6: I likewise bid 3S over the 3H. In the play I tried finessing the clubs originally when they played them (no good, so won K) and played for the Q to drop doubleton since I thought 3-2 was more likely from the bidding. Still -1 was -50 for 42.86%. Board 7: I opened 1NT and completed the transfer and bid 3NT (at IMPs or with better slam exporation tools would think more about exploring 6D). I got the opening spade lead to the Q and K. I now ran clubs then diamonds ending in my hand. The computer not expecting my stiff A of hearts kept only 1 spade and 2 hearts so I now exited the S4 and won the last 2 tricks with the HA and SJ for 12 tricks, +690, and 82.29%. Board 8: I did open with the X but over partners 1NT response which was explained as 4-10 I decided to go low at matchpoints and pass the 1NT. I won the spade lead with the Q and took the immediate diamond finesse to end up down 1 for -50 and likewise 85.71%.
