L-W-L-W-W, pretty happy overall. B1: Bid 3S, ended up in 3NT. Didn't initially understand why you wouldn't - nice explanation, you live and you learn. B2: Played KD, AD, diamond giving partner an overruff for one more trick. B3: Misplayed the 4H dropping the overtrick B4: Read the description and stopped in 4S :) B5: In standard 2/1 I bid 3S to show fit w/ slam try, and after Lia's cue-bid I was the one asking for keycards. This meant that I could show that we have all keycards, hoping to learn something about minors, but Lia just pushed 7H on her own.

1 loss, 3 wins today. In board 1, I bid 3S and ended in 3NT. But your argument, that I would not want to play this anyway is nice. Learned something. In board 3, I applied what I learned, and ended in 6NT :-)

Interesting set. B1: Responded 3S to stayman and ended in 3N. It seems like partner should do more opposite 24-25 balanced. B2: Got a trump promotion after AK and a third diamond. Everytime I underlead with something like this partner always has Jx and declarer Tx. B3: Draw, I knew you'd open 1H so I did likewise :) B4: I misplayed 4S getting greedy, my W returned a D when in with AS. I was worried about E ruffing so I ruffed high in dummy, and now I can't set up C with them being 4-0. B5: Lia bid the grand! Great job Lia!

2 losses 3 wins 1) L Showed my spades ended up in 3N 2) W - held them to 8 tricks - cashed AD - then got the overruff on 3rd round of diamonds 3) L - Miss-click - ruffed my diamond with the Ace and scuppered my entries 4) W - Stopped in 4S - played it terribly forgot to overtake clubs - but got the win 5 W - Made it to 7H - playing ACOL - a very different auction - partner opened 1H ! - got a 3C overcall - and I kicked off a slam try with 4C - then via keycard - I did the asking and then showed all keycards - North put me in 7.

Interesting. On 1 I accepted the bot's D slam try, making 6 in 6D; but I think I would have been better to offer 5N choice of slam and then have the chance for overtrick if we get to 6C.

I'll take my fluky wins on B2 and B4. Definitely some interesting bidding choices that led to interesting results! On B5 most of us were in 6H making 7, though a few brave souls ventured to 7H, and even 7NT!

Partner says all keycards are in at board 1 so I landed in 7d😢

board 1 same bidding system as above - after 3C by robot, 3S, 4D, 4nt all pass. so the 3D lucked out - swings and roundabouts...

Pete -- Board 1. Apologies if this sounds harsh but the 3D on the 3C is not conducive to partnership trust. I am surprised that you bid it just to get a swing.

Firstly robots don't hold grudges or lose partnership trust. I didn't do it just to get a swing, I thought 3NT will be much better if the opponents don't know of my spades if partner was looking for hearts and if partner was looking for spades it still might be better.

@@BridgeWithPete I do realize that robots don't hold grudges or lose partnership trust.... you are a celebrity and your actions are there for the rest of us to emulate -- the point I was trying to get across is either you would bid 3D at the table playing with a real partner or you would not. If you would bid 3D at a live table, then that causes loss of partnership trust (since you are explaining that it might be better to bid 3D whether p has Hearts or Spades). If you would not bid 3D at a live table, then you did it here to get a swing.

@@ratnatadepalli3662 It seems that you have to allow for robot imperfections, and bid accordingly, Another perspective.

@@bfortune123 Absolutely: when you're playing the robots, you sometimes have to *play* the robots. Robot bridge is definitely a different game from live bridge, in a similar way that live bridge at a local club is a different game from live bridge at a high-level tournament.

It's a textbook example of masterminding, like passing a forcing bid. The usual reason brought against this is that even if a mastermind action might be percentage on a given hand, it isn't worth the loss of partnership trust. This, however, is not relevant with robot partners.
