I'm very impressed with this watch. I already own a Spinnaker Bradner and an AVI-8 (sister company), both of which have very high build qualities, outstanding dials and great wearability. I'm lusting for this one now

I have a Bradner which is a great watch, especially when it comes to design. But this one is just on another level, amazing work from Spinnaker. Great rubber strap, a perfect combo with the watch. And the indices, wow, another level of design. 👏🔥

Being old…SCHOOL Peter, those floating indices would concern me! I’d keep looking at it wondering when they’d just fall off the crystal! I’d half to wear it upside down!🤣 Good review & a great looking watch from Spinnaker!👍🏼
@PeterKotsa3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha...nice one Andrew 👍
@michaelniemer44493 жыл бұрын
The thing that impresses me the most is the application of those indices on the crystal. I’ve seen the ghost etching effect, and the application of the cyclops under the crystal. But the time and care it takes to cleanly and accurately glue each of these indices to the underside of the crystal without any overage or air bubble missed spots is really something else.
@PeterKotsa3 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, if you look closely, the indices are mounted to the dial but "raised" close to the crystal that they look like they are floating. Cheers mate
@michaelniemer44493 жыл бұрын
@@PeterKotsa well that explains it! Still a stunning execution of the effect. Now I wonder if a watchmaker might be ambitious enough to apply the indices directly to the crystal, and how much that effort would add to the price.
@PeterKotsa3 жыл бұрын
@@michaelniemer4449 I suppose it could be done, however if the crystal were to scratch or break, then I do not fancy replacement costs..lol Cheers mate

@@PeterKotsa Just so you don’t think I’m completely nuts 🤪, the watch that sent me down this thought path is the Autodromo Intereuropa. The multi-layer dial with a printed railroad minute track and Arabic numerals on both a K1 crystal floating ring, and the underside of the sapphire crystal, is really something. Regarding the potential repair costs, perhaps ignorance is bliss?

I live the design, would prefer a bit smaller case. My problem is rather with the rubber integrated strap. Outdoor watches and their straps wear off rather quickly, hence finding replacement/alternatives might be impossible in the future. However, great take on the watch, thanks Peter!

Thank you so much Peter this is just a brilliant watch. I absolutely love the design, specs, movement...and the floating markers are just awesome. Fit and finish seem outstanding. My only concern is the integrated molded strap seems to bulge out a bit and not sure if it will be a little big for my 6.75in wrist or if it bends down enough to where it will wrap around my wrist ok? Thank you again mate, you always find the nicest pieces and your perspective is spot on. Cheers 👏👍🙏

Hello, I am not well-oriented in watch/strap world so I have a quick question. This watch has an integrated strap, correct? It means that when it brakes/used after few year I will not be able to replace it with anything on the market? If so, it doesn't sound like a good idea to buy it, rather short-term purchase. thanks for help! BR

I believe Spinnaker also offer an integrated bracelet for this model. But in saying that, the rubber strap is superb quality so I don't see any reason why it should not last the test of time. 10 years maybe more... cheers
