Me too, but even then, I want to see it prepared to deal with road salt which most 4 season RV's are not.

Suggestion for all the camper manufacturers, regarding the stoves/ranges: build into the cover one or two induction units. They're much cheaper to run and, in most cases, cook just as well or better, absolutely fantastic for quickly heating any quantity of water, be it soup or for laundry. While you could replace some of the gas burners, putting the induction units into the cover permits the user to have both types-and depending on design (read: socket the power source), possibly put it in another location to cook at the same time, or just use as a portable counter. Heck, add a cutting board on the flip side of the induction units, or as a second cover, all clicking together. It seems an elegant solution to adding utility options.

i believe induction uses many more amps than normal electric which would drain a battery real quick,
@hendrikvanharn4 ай бұрын
@@sisterssmp4994 Most run off a standard 15A residential circuit. Kitchen outlets are usually 20A. But yes , they still use a lot of watts and would drain a battery quickly... I take my portable induction cooktop only when I have electrical at my campsite.
@CroakerOutdoors29 күн бұрын
My concern would be as someone that is looking to boondock 90% of the time, propane can cook for much longer than I will have battery for induction. Also, not looking to make these more expensive.

Could you please do a presentation of a small pop up trailer for not so very sporty people like me? I really would appreciate this!
@WhatNoKaboom4 ай бұрын
For an ultra light camper trailer that still offers full headroom, you must check out the Sylvansport GO and its peripherals. I've had mine since 2018 and I still love it. At 840 pounds dry weight, practically any car rated for towing will manage it easily. As well as being a tent trailer, it is also a gear and toy hauler.

@WhatNoKaboom29 күн бұрын
Not having to shell out $50,000 for a tow vehicle puts the cost of the GO in perspective. Here's what sold us on it. The 6'5" ceiling means my 6'2" hubs doesn't need to crouch. The cantilevered beds keep the 4'x7' floor space clear. Huge windows with no-see-um screens allow for amazing ventilation. Did I mention we could use our car? No wood in its construction that could potentially rot. Setup is a breeze. I the car thing already, right? It's airy and never feels closed in. The ability to use it as a plain trailer to haul stuff. With the free space under the tent shell our gear packs easily. Adding the connected GOzeebo makes our accommodations almost palatial. It can be positioned by hand in ways that would be impossible while attached to a vehicle. Oh, and we can pull it with our car. We'd been looking for a compact trailer for 5 years. There was always some issue that crossed them off our list, size and weight mostly. When we saw the GO, our decision was easy. Seven days later we signed on the dotted line. It's been worth every penny and we didn't have to get a new car. 😊

The pop up camper market needs to look at the off road forward fold campers. I'm not going to be cooking inside any tent camper. Put the kitchen outside with awning that has wall options.

Serious question... What's the difference between cooking outside within a wallled area, and inside a tent trailer?

@AbundantAdventures I like the OP2. Decent storage, outside kitchen, & shower is accessible from annex.
@AbundantAdventures Жыл бұрын
@felishagathright4013 yeah. They do a great job but unfortunately it's overkill and more importantly over priced for a canvas tent on wheels. Don't get me wrong, thing is awesome and I want one but 35 thousand for something that can get holes in it or easily leak over years of use is just too much money IMO. If I got use out of the extreme off road capabilities it had I could justify it, but unfortunately I'm looking for semi off road capable but nothing as advanced as they have on it.

Nice. I drive a Model Y as well. What kind of range are you seeing when towing this? Have you been able to reliably find supercharging without unhooking the trailer?

@@PeterLoweOne We live in Reno north of town in Lemmon Valley area and we camp at Donner SP so it's only about 45 minutes each way. I usually charge at home to 95% the night before heading out. We usually camp 3-4 days without hookups. They have showers, toilets, drinking water but no electric or water hookups. I fill our water by hand carrying from the spigot to our holding tank daily. The 200w solar refills or one 12v lithium battery by noon daily and it runs the 12v frig and propane heater for cold nights. Last trip, I also brought our 700w Bluetti to run fans since no AC. There's Superchargers close but never needed them. We go into town a few times for ice cream etc. and still get home with 20% charge.

Been going back and forth between a new or used pop up. Personally we only cook inside when absolutely necessary. The sink and burners aren’t a must for us I’d rather increase storage. Also the table always looks like an uncomfortable addition. New or used I’d probably leave it at home. We have a portable table we use and love. I do love the bench seating. More family friendly and the awning I wish we could have seen because that sounds like a feature we would use a lot. Since right now we have a tall pop up screen tent that we use for our cooking area. I do like the better tires as you are right in true off grid areas you want tires that will handle the trek. This gave me a ton to think on.
@CroakerOutdoors29 күн бұрын
We are in the exact same mindset. My thoughts with buying new, is I will know everything is factory fresh and can begin from the jump with proper preventative maintenance. Canvas UV treatment, bearings lubed, install a proper good quality roof AC. The stove would be to heat water only, I don't want any oils or food smells inside. I do much prefer the flush mount style stove that looks cleaner and the flush mount flip up goose neck sink, this one looks looks so cheap. I'd rather have quality name brand H/T tread than off road with a higher rolling resistance though. I'm 50/50 on the enclosed box vs a metal front deck on the tongue too.

Thats the thing that interests me about the industry. There was a time of innovation in the industry, but I would argue that innovation just stopped in too many ways. Most of what is going on in the industry is very reminiscent of many decades ago. I feel like if the innovators of 40 and 50 (or more) years ago had access to the technologies of today, we would have seen a lot of innovation that we just aren't seeing today. However, I stand by what I said, without the innovation, people overlook how great these units accomplish what people want compared to many competitive units.

Do they make these types of trailers that only have 1 pullout? Is that a thing? I am solo and the 2nd pullout would be wasted space & more excessive heat/ac loss..
@PeterLoweOne Жыл бұрын
I've seen them, but they're very rare. I'm not sure who may still make that design today. The ones that I've seen are usually the very low end of the market. They may not be available with all the features of this trailer. They're designed to be inexpensive and lightweight alternatives.
