I used the smaller space plugs when securing a large chest of drawers to the wall in my son's room, just the job for bridging from the inset back panel and over the skirting!

Thanks for reminding me about Steve's award winning mini-workbench - I downloaded the plans for that ages ago but put off building it until I passed the threshold to purchase a Domino. I got that months ago and have been amazed how much easier it has been to put carcasses together - and completely forgot about the workbench I had planned to make!

Hi Peter, love the bright colours, but even green can get lost (you could only find 2 of them). I have had a very frustrating week braking down pallets, even though I was seated all the time I would put something down and then the next time I wanted it, somehow it had disappeared.

Peter. I’m stunned by the AMAZING Finnish you achieved with that last project that you showed at the start of this upload. Absolutely stunning end result. I’m not surprised, but seeing that bit of footage just refreshed me on just how meticulous you clearly are with your projects. Absolutely inspiring. If I ever win lotto and get a mews in Mayfair YOU will be my (and Lynnes) choice for fitted furniture!! Fab!!

The thing about designing a product which can easily be copied is that regardless of "copyright" & "patent"... if you don't have the not inconsiderable resources to enforce them then they are a waste of money. 😒 Soo... what to do in this internet age of rip-offs ?? Build customer loyalty... 🤨 Big brands create brand loyalty by treating their customers differently... customised service, extended warranties, free advice re. product use etc... & if possible they innovate & produce a product not easily or cheaply copied. 👌😏 I had this very same problem 30 years ago when one of my products , a steel removable bollard to prevent car theft (rampant at the time) from ones driveway, started to get popular. This was noticed by others & as the product was a simple affair, copycats started appearing. BUT.... as I also did timely & professional installations , I had my products electroplated & I supplied a high quality padlock as standard with the product, mine stood out & being a security product , customers wanted quality assurance, so my customers mostly came through "word-of-mouth". The oppositions (several copycats) products were shoddy, cheap-&-nasty & their customer service was non existent. I also developed a newer heavy duty version with a built-in lock at the TOP of the post & supplied & installed a wall bracket for storage... this new version needed milling & turning facilities in manufacture & my "competitors" were simply guys with a welder... I went on to manufacture & sell SEVERAL THOUSAND of these products for nigh on 15+ years & in fact supplied to commercial premises & even local council departments.. why ? because of my reputation... 😎 Long story short... innovate or die... if you have an easily copied product, sell as many as you can BEFORE the copycats catch up... then move on & come up with something new.. there is NO way to stop copying... in business you just learn to live with it. 🙄😒 Rant over... 😎👍☘

I had this type of built-in wardrobe system in the first house I bought. The problem being it was on an outside wall and in Autumn/Winter they got damp inside and even mold could grow on the walls. A right royal pain in the sitting down area!

In case someone else outside the UK wants those space plugs: on Amazon it looks like only the small ones will ship outside the UK (for Belgium this would cost a staggering £120 for a 10 pack; I’m guessing the seller accidentally added an extra 0 but wouldn’t take the risk); they’re out of stock at Screwfix but available (at a slightly higher price) at axminster (and shipping rates are reasonable there).

I don’t have one of those scribe blocks yet but then I have the trend easy scribe, maybe it would be handy to have one in the toolbox i suppose. The U-scribes are excellent, little third hands/tools and I’m very surprised they hadn’t been invented sooner welldone to those lads for bringing them out. Space plugs work great for wardrobes but even better when fitting kitchen units etc when pipework or electrics have been put in wrong or right in the way of the fixings and these little orange life savers avert the issue, also it’s great they provide an extra long drill bit for them. Nice little video as always peter 👍🏻

Can't thank you enough Peter!! Came out of the blue to me!!! I'm the inventor of Space-Plug and a former fitter myself ... I've now put over 3 million little orange doofers into the world and we are increasing in popularity every day :) If anybody wants some more info I hope you don't mind if I suggest they take a look at space-plug.com ... I'm in the middle of tidying Amazon listings and bringing down prices!! It will all get sorted but I'm happier with Makita than Dell !!! :) You can also find us at Howdens, ScrewFix, ToolStation, Axminster and more... Thanks again to you and all for some very kind comments!! All my very best Cliff

Hi Pete. Nice video. Question for you...I do love the concept of the Uscribejig, however if the filler is set flush with the facia front and not set back with the carcass(i prefer my fillers to be flush with the finished product) are you not then left with a hole to fill where the screw has been? Admittedly this hole would be on the edge of the filler and not on the face so would be partially hidden by the adjacent door, but in certain cases i guess this could pose a problem. *enter wax or "fastcap" Keep the videos coming. All the best.
@10MinuteWorkshop
@10MinuteWorkshop 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Anything that’s screwed through the interior side of the carcass has the fixings hidden behind the hinge plates, or the hinge arms. I’ll be talking about this a bit when I go through the install on the wardrobes 👍👍

Thanks! I took the video down as the comments were getting all a bit unnecessary, and myself and the injured parties have better things to do than argue the toss with people on the internet about copyright violations, intellectual property rights etc.. etc.. The video has done its job to highlight the issue, and hopefully with enough objections the plans posted to whatsit-verse will at least be reviewed appropriately. Must admit I was slightly taken aback by the number of people who simply seemed to want to shrug this off as ‘one of those things’. 🤷‍♂️
