Metro looks bit concerned at the end there. "Is my foot gonna be OK?" Kinda like I feel on my way out of the doctor's office. I sure do hope that fixes his problem. He seems like a very nice horse.

I think this horse mainly does work in the arena. This doesn’t wear the shoes down the same as road work. Hopefully now it has been cleared out the hoof will grow down normally 😊

My horse has the same issue…here in the states we have a product called “cleantracs” that is supposed to help clear the infection up, it just takes quite a while….been trimming and soaking for almost a year now

Hi Peter, great job. Can you tell me about the sugar paste and where can I buy it ? Or could I make it? My horse (26) has seedy toe/ hollow hooves real bad, in high rainfall area. I have a good farrier and use copper sulphate soaking and on a multivitamin and minerals and amino diet. I need to know what else can I do.

Barring accident or injury, a horse should make it well into the twenties. Some native breeds live longer than that.

@art1muz13 In Britain, they would be ancient pony breeds like Highland, Exmoor and Dales. Lots of them get into their thirties, if they avoid issues like laminitis or being overloaded. I guess any well bred pony type would be comparable in longevity. Hardy types with good genetics, bred for soundness, not coat colour or other superficial features. Horses, especially larger or more athletic types, tend to live a bit shorter lives - into their twenties usually.
