Yes!! Give it a rest when you are done.. Excellent advice. Late nights/early mornings it looks great.. come back a day later and you'll wonder what the heck you were thinking, lol.

Best narrowband edit video I've seen in the last few years. This video really shows how it's done without assuming anything. Tx Peter.

Well last night I shot this nebula but with a 135 mm lens/ modded dslr Can't wait to process like you have recommended!.

How big in the frame was the rosette nebula at 135? It’s so hard to find where I am because of light pollution. Of course I think part of it is just me though 🤷🏾♂️

@@paigecfrancis I just spent about an hour trying to process it it's not very big. My skills are terrible in Photoshop but I'm hoping this weekend I can drill into it. At 1600 ISO it definitely popped out. I was able to capture the Christmas tree cluster with it. Also captured at 400 ISO but not as dramatic. I will try to merge the two and see if I can come up with an image worth looking at. It was definitely an eyeball event trying to locate it.

Nice video and very useful. To avoid increasing noise when you are touching the color put the calc in color mode instead of normal. Clear skies and thank’s for all these videos. JM

Great tutorial! Now, quick question, if you were to take flat, dark and bias frames, would you take them separately with each narrowband filter on and only stacking them to the corresponding light frames? Or is it okay to simply remove the filters and apply the same calibration frames to each light frame stack? Thank you.

thank you so much for your tutorials! simply awesome :-) i do have some problems with the guiding. my red dec line is running out of the graph in no time and i can't seem to get the guiding within 4 arc minutes...any tips on what causes this problem?

Peter very nice and clear tutorial, I am a MAC user so thanks for SSS suggestion I’ll try it, do you have some suggestions for DSLR capturing able to take with dithering synchronised with PHD2? thanks in advance for your feedback 😉 ciao Roberto

In my humble opinion that Dodging process is a little dodgy because you are manually adding an artificial structure to the nebula by applying it only to a subset of pixels of the image. As long as you work on the color transformations on the whole image it is a capture of the reality but that Dodging somehow triggered my response. It looks beautiful. I enjoy your videos and I 'm learning a lot.

Thanks for this! I was just shooting the rosette Nebula last night so Im going to try this Could you also make a video on how to apply star reduction ? I have some old data from shooting the elephant trunk nebula and my problem is the oversaturation of stars. My technique either leaves weird artifacts or leave final product underwhelming lol.

Hi Peter, in the video you placed the narrowband images based on Hubble palette.....you said you are not a big fan of the hubble palette.....how would this edit look if you did it your way ???...really interested to see that

Thank you so much for this video. We just started astrophotography as a family (Dad, Mom, and 3 daughters) four months ago. My oldest daughter processes all of our photos. Can’t wait to show her this. Do you have an Instagram we can follow? We are at “3SistersAstronomy”.
