Flux core MIG welders come in different configurations including the setup of their cables. And with my new welder what differs from my other MIG welder is that its torch is hardwired into the internals of the machine which makes it hard if ever you need to do some mig welder gun repair like your welding gun not feeding. So the main problem is how to change the mig liner on a hard-wired torch when it gets gummed up.
Actually, since my MIG welder is still new, I haven’t got any issues with the liner itself but have run a few rolls of flux core wire through it and I think I have a blockage in it due to dirt. I realized that eventually there would be a time that I have to do a flux core mig liner change if a problem arises.
MIG gun welder repairs are no big deal because you can easily change the consumables that are in the gun and you can also swap guns’ parts between two MIG guns. You can also change the liner if the welding gun is not feeding but only if the MIG gun has a euro-type cable connector. But in my machine’s case, the MIG gun was hard-wired.
So if you have a machine that also has a hard-wired torch and the welding gun not feeding which could be caused by a problematic liner, then a flux core mig liner change would surely be on its way and you should know what to do. Yet, I should tell you doing such mig welder gun repair that particularly involves mig liner replacement on a hard-wired torch is not an easy task at first. But this video will tell you how and what to expect.
