Thanks Sarah. I've had an internet minor personality presence since 1995 with my Edgar Allan Poe fan site so I know how to take the criticism and off-the-wall comments. The Snape stuff started in the early 1990s Harry Potter days BUT that was my hair style before Harry Potter so I just accepted it. I'm ok with it all. JW Rowling just usurped the classical pianist Franz Liszt's look. I did classical piano as well so I am living with it among the waves.

Petey, I have an essential question, and I hope you can help me with that. You start your “figure 8” with an upstroke, which turns upside down everything I’ve known about strumming, alternate picking, cross-picking, etc. Before you answer, I would like to venture a guess: is it because a uke is NOT a guitar, and, seeing that you hold it differently and you’ve got the high G, normal strumming rules do not apply?
@PeteyHoudini4 жыл бұрын
Privyet! When I first saw the Roy Smeck example of the figure 8, I couldn't tell which way to start from. It just felt better doing first an up-stroke with the index finger. Mainly, because if you do a downstroke, you hit the nail on the edge of the fret board and the metal frets and that shreds where the base of your index fingernail meets the skin. The pad of index starting upwards causes no pain issues. Not related to guitar at all. hehe
@420Berty2 жыл бұрын

She mainly used Flamenco guitar techniques and she has that tenor uke with that low string. You can follow her on YT. She's been doing live stuff the past months and it's great.
