so I get mine and nothing to say about, it works perfect and so quiet! but...after a day using it, a small noise is there..I think it's the motor , I've checked everything and I didn't find any problem. I don't know why this noise appeared suddently...it's really nothing but compare to the first moment where there wasn't any noise...it's frustrating...

At first glance, this seems like a great fountain. Mine is so quiet you absolutely can't hear it. But it bothers me that the main water container, the "inner barrel" is only wiped off with a paper towel. That's it. If you read the instructions, it *sounds* like you can immerse the container and it says to make sure it's dry before you put it back together. However, there are electrical pins and the connection to the pump is really short so it would be hard to keep it from getting wet. I am really bothered by the inability to clean the water container.

At least once a week...rinse the small foam filter and the circular filter thoroughly in plain water...clean the unit and rinse thoroughly...then refill with clean water...

@@Daemonya I talked to Petkit support, and they said, if you have hmax of 100cm stated on your pump you dont need a tube, if you have a pump with 47cm stated, you need a tube. I had an 100cm hmax pump, so i didnt need a tube.

How is cleaning the "foam" (00:42) going to clean the "other parts of the fountain"? Where is the "left water" (00:52)? All we could see is water "remaining" in the clear/translucent reservoir, but none remaining in the left (or right). Last thing we want is "electric" leaking all over our wood floors (2:11). Thanks for making the effort and providing the courtesy of using proper grammar.

I clean mine and do a complete water change every five - six days. There is some work involved but I'm happy to do it because Fluffy REALLY loves drinking from it and I want him to have healthy kidneys. I set aside about half an hour to dismantle it, clean it, rinse it REALLY thoroughly, DRY the connection points, and then reassemble it. I use a nailbrush to clean in between the "spokes" of the top grill part, and cotton buds to clean the small crevices where nothing else reaches. I use dish detergent to clean the removable parts of the filter but I make sure they are rinsed REALLY thoroughly before replacing them. Absolutely NO detergent on the small foam filter, the circular filter, or the motor. I'm really lucky mine has a white motor so I can see any algae that may start growing there and I scrub it off using a small dry face washer. I had a cheaper pet fountain in the past that had a black motor and I was horrified by the amount of algae that grew unseen until I started using white cotton buds to clean it. The Petkit fountain is absolutely NOT junk. I've used a cheaper fountain that became very slimy very fast. The plastic parts of the Petkit fountain are much better quality and much more resistant to slime accumulating. I also love the fact that the Petkit fountain has a water level sensor that stops the motor burning out if it runs dry. I run mine continuously and the only thing I dislike about it are the lights. Hate them. So I placed the side with the lights against the wall and they don't disturb me anymore. I'm fastidious about cleaning and changing the filters on the unit and I never let it run dry so I don't need the lights. The fountain sits on my bedside table and the white looks fantastic with my decor. But for me the BEST feature of this fountain is that I don't need to kneel down and unplug the whole unit to clean it. I simply lift the reservoir that holds the water out and take it to the sink to clean. Also I LOVE the low squat design of it with the rubber feet. It's very stable and I've never accidentally knocked it over. The PetKit fountain does need weekly maintenance. It's similar to the amount of maintenance that a small aquarium requires weekly. I changed all the filters in mine this morning and gave it a thorough clean so all I have to do for the next few days is top it up with water...
