Are you looking for your first EDF jet or are you a more advanced pilot looking for a new EDF? Look no further. While great for people new to EDF jets, The Freewing F9F Panther is fast and agile enough for experienced pilots too. The Freewing F9F is one of our favorite jets. While this F9F Panther EDF is not for beginner flyers, it is perfect for the intermediate flyer looking for their first EDF jet. There is not an easier EDF jet to fly.
Unlike many EDF jets, the Freewing F9F actually floats for an extended period of time without throttle (assuming a correct CG). The F9F is powerful enough to loop and has a fantastic roll rate. We recommend hand launching and belly landing in the grass for pilots new to EDF jets. The F9F is built from durable EPO foam and uses nylon hinges. While a 1600 mAh LiPo is recommended, a 2200 mAh battery can be used by more experienced pilots with minor modification to the battery compartment. We highly recommend a high wing trainer for beginners and proficiency with at least one low wing plane before attempting to fly an EDF jet.

Hi, love your channel. Just flew this edf jet on its maiden. It's my first edf jet and was very nervous. Went ok but must add in my two pence worth about setup. I noticed that there is a lot of discussion about cog and I followed Dave's advice having watched his flight video. I used 2200 3 cell 35c zippy compact pushed all the way to the firewall (about 2 inches further forward than you have in this video Robert). With a firm toss about 30 degrees up it launched no problem, flew with no tail heavy attributes and glides forever on landing. I love it. Just for the record the cog in this setup was 35mm from leading edge, not the 45 mm in the manual. This worked perfectly for me. See how expert I think I am after one edf jet flight 😀. Andy in UK.

Back in the early 60's there was a company called Jetex.They made jets engines powered by fuel pellets.There was an F(F Panther jet available with a Jetex conversion.I have always wanted to see this model in this fashion.One amateur to another(I haven't even flowna trainer yet!) Thanks a lot!

I had one of these, I found it awful personally. I had to ram the 3s 2200 battery as far forward as possible and add weight behind the plastic nose cup In the end i broke part of the wooden battery tray and rammed a 4s 2200 70c in it :) however i was hand launching it

Hello Brothers- just FYI, you can make your grass flying field as smooth as a golf course by evenly spreading sand (a lot) over it and letting the grass grow up through it. The rains will flatten it out and you will be very happy to taxi your smaller tired craft on it!! I really appreciate your humor and love for flying RC! Jon

Now that start was just sick. And now we know this plane has no bad tip stall tendencies 😄 And the landing was like high alpha, helped a little by the cg. Great flying pilot Robert! Captain Blaz was at his best too, starting the camera early while talking Slovenian.... and a little dirty talk on the shower and the size of the battery. Its so fun to watch the videos of the best KZbin channel around

I'm glad you took my advice on using a 2200. Now you can push that battery even further forward. Trust me. It wont damage the plane. But you should be able to get it forward another 2 or 3 inches. Also if you use the gear. Just let it take off by itself. You dont even need to give any up elevator. She will get off the ground all by herself. I have a lot of experience with these 64mm jets. Another thing I do and it's a must. The 30 amp stock esc is not enough. Buy a 45 amp Mantis ESC from motion Rc and this will save your lipos from getting to hot and puffing.

I had mine for 2 weeks b4 the orangerx failed. Good plane. Underpowered though. Even with a 2200 it still needed nose weight. To hand launch it you better get a running start and YEET it into the wind on a *Full battery*

The 4K video quality is amazing. I believe that with your hand-held camera you can't do any better. Maybe (still unsure about this...) the overall shooting can be improved with a pro or pro-sumer "shoulder" camera. But since the actual image is so good......why do spend 3 or 4K $$$$ in a new camera?? ....better to buy some more models!!

NiceOne Guyz !!! You gave us a look at the Dreaded EDF Jet 'Death Hover' ...Very Exciting indeed !!! Maybe you will post the actual cg in mm's for your viewers. This could possibly help them understand how Bigger/Heavier Battery = Same cg, feel and flight time as Smaller/Lighter Battery in the SAME Jet !!! Hahaha Then, I would take away a whole bunch of weight from this airplane by Cutting Away Sections all around the Wings and Tail Section, cover those areas with MonoKote and then use the smaller battery and Fly Again this way !!! Now Dis Would really be Something ...Aye !! Cheers
