I took your advice and called a chap in our small village whom I know lives alone and struggles a great deal. I meet up with him reasonably regularly for a drink. Called him today Boxing day. I know he's on his own - entirely. Thank you for giving me that nudge to make that call. There's many whom find Christmas extremely difficult. just one example ....I saw the picture of that little German boy killed just before Christmas in the German market by a car driven purposely into the crowds. Just how must his family be......God bless.

Agree with your point towards the end. My philosophy is to block out all the big scale world cr4p you cannot control, & focus on the local friends & family stuff with a positive attitude one day at a time. Have a great 2025.

@Fredfox, I totally agree with you. I was a 2020 adapter to an EV & finally got out of it in May this year losing over £40k on it! Never again…. I’m back in a clean high powered Diesel without a driving mileage care in the world also knowing, I have a sought after SUV & hopefully for years..

I feel your pain with regards EV driving although I did like the 400bhp all wheel drive, sports seats and air suspension the £30k loss was too much. The last 3 months of petrol driving is something I didn't realise I missed so much.

I am sitting here on Boxing day morning trying to recover from a day in the company of my Mother in Law with hints of Fire & Cane courtesy of Glenfiddich swirling around my head easing my pain. I guess at this time of the year I am looking forward to my non EV driving adventures for the first time in a couple of years and the hope of a better summer to come than last in the hope the winter to come is not bad.
