Petticoat Junction Alternative Opening without Kate

This is the opening that played after Bea Benaderet left and right before June Lockhart

I remember this version which was rare at that time but didn't know Bea Benaderet died. I was a kid then and wondered what happened to Kate until I gotten older, as they seem to keep her character alive after she passed.

This opening was actually used for several episodes in the fall of 1968 during the original CBS run. However, in syndication this version usually only airs once on the episode entitled "The strange case of Joseph P Carson".

that was when BEA died and they had to replace the opening until she could be replaced.

I was a child when this show aired and I remember not liking this version because Kate didn't snap Uncle Joe's suspender! What a gyp! My favorite part. (Of course I didn't know that Bea had died.)

I saw this in sydication in the 80's and thought I was going crazy imaginging a minature of the Shady Rest in the opening because I neer saw it again. No wonder if it was only in one or two episodes! They should have kept the minature in the Craig opening though because its awesome.
