No, it's a different boltpattern. But ML5T is used in a VERY wide variety of engines, not only XU10J2TE - diesels, V6s, etc. They all share basically the same architecture, ratios are different, and the bolt pattern varies. But the ML5T from, say, EW12 on a 407 2.2, bolts straight on to the EW10 block. Yes, it's a very tight fit and needs some work to accomodate it, linkage is different, clutch and driveshafts all need to be modified as well - but it will fit. And will not break.

Diff is a Quaife ATB, that will not break. Gearbox is standard, holds so far. Driveshafts and CV joints break all the time, upgraded heavy duty items planned.

hey dude i know im 11 years to late but, was this really a standard gearbox? my 206 is going to be 450 and i was hoping stock gearbox with a LSD would be enough

I only stopped at this power level because i didn't want to bother and change the injectors, but since a few have gone over the 500BHP, i've changed the injectors and switched to E85, and expect to see at least 550BHP, engine is good for far more than 470.

Gauges are Defi. Forged cranks, try DP Engineering. 1400nm corrected value, multiplied by the gear ratio, that's how dyno works...

Well, partially right. Yes, very little torque from really low revs, mostly because of the fact that the car runs throttle bodies and very aggresive cams - they both draw large volume of air, but require significant air velocity to work, which is something you can't get on low revs. Completely different story on higher revs, which was the whole point of the car, really. It's not intended to be a daily driver, it's supposed to be FUN, and that it is :)

You'd be surprised how little torque steer there is. It's there, sure, but nowhere nearly as much as you'd expect with such power, perfectly manageable through the bends, accelerqting while overtaking, etc.

Nice! I've read research that the stock internals can take around 6psi of boost. Have you got any experience of boosting the stock engine?

I said your BOV isn't releasing all the amount of air, it's braking your turbine during a gear shift, for example..

First of all, that's a rough estimate, i didn't really take GPS measurements, could be a bit faster. I do have a 550BHP RWD car that covers it in sub-8 secs, so...possibly faster but i can't be certain as i haven't really measured it properly, with GPS and all... And second - i'm sure EVOs do same time with less BHP - but they don't wheelspin up to 5th gear :)

Well how about looking at the dyno screen for a change? I got the title right, take a look at the readout on the right saying 400+ at one moment, that's wheel bhp. Dyno sheet says it all too...

Only happens on partial load or partial lifting off the throttle, when there is not that much excess to dump - whatever little air does go back to the impeller won't hurt the turbo, it can take that much. Setting up the BOV to dump everything, even very little load on slightest lift-off is just plain waste, doesn't do you any good and it certainly will not break or brake the turbo as long as small pressure is involved. On higher loads and complete lift-off the throttle, it will dump everything.

Think you need to go for more power now. DP Engineering have built another one recently that is over 500hp. Curious how the gearbox copes with the torque though, seriously looking at doing the turbo conversion on my C4 VTS. Same engine and gearbox etc. Interesting to hear how the box copes. Anything done to it? LSD etc?

@jarrus464 It's perfectly driveable. Well, you do need to keep in mind the fact that this is a 2.0l engine made for high revs converted to turbo, so there is some lag, but still, nothing too bad. It's running a bit rich, yes, but not as much as on the dyno, as you can rarely stress the engine this much on the road. Also, this was still in the fine tuning stage. Still need to try out the E85 ;)

U drive a car that has more than 400BHP per Tonne (which is SUPER CAR TERRITORY), probably achieve 100km/h faster than most super cars, looks like a normal DD with no rice mods, and it costs 20K of engine mods + 20k Base car (new)...if someone thinks this is WASTE, then their brain is a WASTE ! .. keep up the good work, if I had that sort of money, my 206 RC would be pushing similar numbers, Id love to see more vidz and details of ur ride

about gearbox, I use a ML5T gearbox (used in XU10J2TE engine) and driveshafts, a lot stronger. But I don't know if the pattern of a XU block is the same of an EW.

A lot of work put into the car and all these other idiots hating are all just jealous. I have a 2006 206 GTI 180 and I appreciate the amount of time put into your car. The pug is very sensitive so fine tuning the car would have taken some trial and error I bet. I just wanted to ask if you have changed your gear knob. I want to change mine and Ive read on forums that people simply have to yank it off. I was also told to twist anti clockwise using brute strength. Please help. Thanks

It wheelspins, sure, but not as much as you'd expect from all that power on FWD. Even when it does, that's what it should do :)

Impressive power output - but only 120 nm at 2500 rpm? And first at around 5250 rpm the real pressure kicks in, but as I can see, it doesn´t even manage to utilize that in proper way to the rev limiter around 7600 rpm. That is not fun to drive around in in terms of everyday life IMO.

@PeugeotBG it's all good then, if it driveable and you can use it everyday then it's a job well done :) and e85, it will make loads more power! problem is that in the UK (where I am) there are very few places to get e85 not that it would be a problem if there was a place near me to get it,

it has to be faster than 9s i can do that with way less power about 280/290@wheels on a peugeot 206 1.6 16v, for it to wheelspin in 5yh gear you have to use the stock ratios, my car only wheelspins in 3 gear to 180km/h , but i mapped the boost so it doesnt wheelspin

Good for you. So? I never said that this is the best the most the ultimate Peugeot, anywhere, ever. No, this is just the most powerful 206 with an original EW10 engine. I never wanted to compare with any other engine, iron block engines are far more easier and safer to tune to high power levels. All aluminium EW10 is a different story.

Why, what's wrong with it? It dumps 99% of the excess pressure, what remains to be heard is very little backwash hitting the turbo... Custom made 296deg 12.99mm lift cams, Richard Longman's solid lifters and double springs

Box is standard apart from the LSD and...few other mods that keep it in one piece, i'll keep those for myself :) Even if it breaks...so what? :) 200€ replacement...

9 sec for 100-200 is not realy fast for a car with 500HP and front wheel drive...sorry...evo's with around 410 gets this time, with all wheel drive...
