Peugeot 3008 review | Why it still deserves to be in your top 3!

Just purchased a 2022 3008GT (2.0L diesel) It's the last of the diesels. Plenty of power and the 2L diesel is the best engine by a long way. For Australian conditions the hybrids just don't hack it. Diesel is the best engine - reliable, because they are proven over time (at least 15 years)

I’ve just bought one. A 192 1.5 diesel model but like new in sunset copper. Thanks for all the reviews on this car. It helped me make up my mind which car to go for. It’s an allure but hv electric tailgate and smart entry too as owner ordered those extra. Love the cockpit n seats so comfortable and automatic is just so easy and cruises along. 😊

Mark. Yes agree. As 'compact' SUVs go, the 3008 is up there. A friend of mine just took delivery of one same spec as you review/ His third one! Loves em! Never any issues. The dash and interior are the ace cards of the Pug. Design language too. Like you would still go 308 SW, estate cars have to make a comeback! Thanks again, brilliant 'true' review.

My brother owns one. He is so happy and satisfied with it. Best vehicle he has ever had. Spectacular design, excellent quality of materials, equipment + highly comfortable... It's a super classy SUV. You get as much as from a Ranger Rover but the Peugeot 3008 costs twice or three times less money than the RR. So you can much better value for money. And look at it ! It's just futuristic and aggressive. That design is amazing.... check out the brand new 408 : it's like a Lamborghini Urus.....Peugeot now is considered mid premium in continental Europe, and going real premium.

I am on my second 3008, first one got the oil pressure issue (model 2016) after 75000 KM. This was a common issue with the 1.2 petrol engine, but still I was dissapointed. I switched to an Grandland X for 3 years with the same engine. Never had a problem with it, very reliable. The ride although not as smooth as the 3008. At the moment I have a new 3008 manual shift with the 1.2 petrol. So far very smooth ride and I really like the updated info system.

Hi, I actually bought the last hybrid4 Demo (Blue One) that you reviewed. Your review was spot on, good car for the wife and kids but certainly not a sports car despite 300bhp on tap, handling is compromised by the additional weight. I would certainly say the 8 speed auto gets confused pretty quickly. My Mum has the 1.2 130 bhp and its a slog to get it up to speed. I really think a 200bhp 1.6 petrol model would be a sweet machine.

Been driving my 2018 model for a few years now and still love it. It's likely I'll upgrade to the newer version. Not sure if I will spend the extra for hybrid though?

Hi. Have you tried The 3008 PHEV 225bhp. I wonder is the control on the road compromised by the weight of the battery? Looking at 22 model. I’m wondering is servicing more costly for this model. I hv an allure 1.5 diesel 192 model at the moment n love it. Just want to come up in the years.

Mines 3 years old and has been one of the most unreliable cars I have ever had the misfortune to own. Soo far it has had numerous ECU faults, new engine at 75000 miles, replacement drive shafts, wheel bearings, ad-blu tank, cat convertor, clutch and flywheel. Got 8 months left on the lease and will never get another Citroen/Peugeot/Vauxhall car. Granted I may have been unlucky but I'm not taking that chance.

I think definitely a mix of misfortune combined with you are not a normal user. Reliability wise these rank pretty high. I suppose you also got these changes under warranty?. I have only had disc break change but only driven 30k in 3 years and observed all the services etc.

@@richgl31 The engine was replaced under warranty as mileage was 75000 (Timing belt snapped while on the M5). The rest was charged to the lease company. Trouble is I do like the look of the upcoming 408

W have 1.2 GT for our family/Dog transport car, only complaint is gearbox, when pulling away at junction it gets confused and is jumpy and far from smooth, irritating enough that we would not buy another..shame as comfort is high ..

I have been a die hard fan of 3008 since last 4 years. But the spot is being taken over by Hyundai Tucson and Kia EV6. 3008 is still the sexiest looking car but the technology/interior is starting to look old by today's standards.

What? This interior layout and desing looks amazing even today. The screens from early models might show its age but the rest is great combination of modern and useful buttons and overall looks

@@dzenan.m My brother in-law had a 3008, he loved it for about 2 or 3 months then the it died on him (gearbox failed if memory serves me). I'm definitely not a fan and obviously as I said in my initial comment, I'm not a fan of SUV's either.

The eaerly 1.2 techs certainly had a few problems - that's been sorted out now. I think the 3008 needs the 1.5 at least. I purchased the 2.0L diesel (in Australia) plenty of power and very reliable
