Peugeot 407 Broken wheel bolt removal

Hello everyone, today I have made you a video of me removing a broken wheel bolt from my Peugeot 407 SW. In my video you will see all the prep you need to do before attempting to do it, ton of drilling , extraction of the broken bit and how to put everything back together. I hope some of you will find this video use full. The only exiting part in this video for me was perfectly executed removal of the broken bolt end. Mate trust me it was really really exiting. I would have filmed a second one too but my camera died and I had to charge it so I done it while camera was charging. And the just filmed how I put everything together. But ya really chuffed with results on them stuck bolt ends😎😎😎😎.

One of my locking wheel bolts has broken on our car… (Peugeot 207) the head of the locking bolt has broken off, and bolt has been done up way too tight by the tyre shop. I think I’ll grab some of these drill bits and extractor pieces and see what happens! Thanks for the video! I want the same joy as you! 😅

Hi mate not gonna lie I have never looked it up. Spoilers for sw would best be original xs ones from scrapyard or ebay. Coupe and sedans I am not sure what spec had them.

Where would you put grease on a log bolts?

When I read the title... I thought, wouldn't it be easier to just replace the hub and bearing? Turns out... nope! If the bolts snapped, it could be a case of over-tightening, which stretches the bolts and eventually snaps, especially if some monkey at a wheel place put the bolt on with an airgun! HSS drillbits work because it's in the name, "High Speed Steel" - used for hard metals and high speeds.

Nice to hear from you mate. Before then I used to brake loads of these 407 I have never bothered drilling broken wheel bolts out I would just quickly swap a whole suspension leg, but now times are tough 😁. So from now drilling and removing them bolts will be the way I will deal with it. Those HSS bits was bought from Lidle for 3.99£ a set I didn't really expected such a results but they did the job absolutely fine. And extraction bits cost me 6£ from my local car part shop so it worked out much cheaper then a used hub.

@@Mad4FrenchCars HSS bits and extraction bits are even cheaper from Screwfix ;-) Only difference with cheap / expensive drill bits is that the expensive ones last longer. If you only need to use it once or twice, expensive is pointless. Swapping over a whole suspension leg!? You like your hard work... I'd personally get my drill out over that... much quicker when the bolt is so easy to get to!

@@khalidacosta7133 It was a time then I had a several suspension legs just laying around. But ya you are 100% right
