All of the footage of the car driving in the countrysides was made available by Peugeot marketing. It makes you think, weather what is being said also is provided by Peugeot marketing... does the reviewer say what she mean? Or does she say what Peugeot wants to hear... This looks and sounds very staged. To me this is not a serious review. This is an attempt to gain view count based a thumbnail of a popular brand.
@markparker55854 жыл бұрын
It's easy to get b-roll film clips from manufacturers, many independent reviewers do that to fill out their own footage. Not all have their own drones or camera teams to take exterior moving footage, especially when they are filming outside of their home country. There is nothing suspicious about this.

0 to 60 in 8.1 seconds...why are these things so slow? Honest question here. Even the e-golf is slow. EV's have all this torque/power, but these small EV's are coming out way slower than they should be. Heck, our 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid (30 mile full EV range) is 0 to 60 in under 8 seconds and it's a 7 seater minivan weighing nearly 4,000lbs. I'm really confused by this.
@SDav215 жыл бұрын
You are probably from the US? In Europe, many cars are small super minis with 0 to 60 over 9 seconds. Why is 0 to 60 so important? This is more than sufficient. Also, yes evs have the torque. But with these cars there's only one motor and 2 wheels being driven. Not 2 or 3 motors. These cars are meant for first time buyers, younger people, small families etc. They don't want cars that spins its 2 wheels everytime they want to move off. There's nothing confusing about it.
@withstyle78165 жыл бұрын
Its fast enough. In 90 percent of your accelerations you won't use full throttle.
@drzej3k7945 жыл бұрын
Yea many new cars in Europe still only have 0-60 times of 12 seconds, acceleration is just not seen as being that important to the vast majority of people here. Most cars even with low acceleration can get up to 100mph. A few years ago I drove 2000 miles across Europe in a 1999 Vauxhall Astra Estate (station wagon) 1.7 diesel with only 73bhp 0-60 of 14 seconds when empty but I was carrying 4 people and luggage, was fine.
@slandshark5 жыл бұрын
Apparently Europe is fine with dangerously slow acceleration in cars. At 10 seconds to 60mph a vehicle will travel 440 ft. Some of our on-ramps are only half that length. And when discussing top speed, 100mph is pointless (there is no speed limit above 75mph anywhere in the U.S.) when majority of your driving in the U.S. (at least where I live) a combination of pulling into traffic on city streets and getting stuck in random traffic on the freeway. But the major point is, these electric motors are capable of so much more, but are being sold as slower than a typical gas guzzling SUV (that's so popular in the US). Also, those saying that these cars are for first time buyers. Well the ICE equivalents are usually faster (and cheaper). Take the e-golf for example. The ICE version is 0 to 60 in 7.7 seconds, but the e-golf (EV version) is 8.5 seconds. That's a pretty big difference!
@drzej3k7945 жыл бұрын
These cars are not dangerously slow, like I said the vast majority of people have been driving cars like this for decades. Regarding merging onto a motorway (freeway) most drivers in Europe change lanes to leave the slow lane nearest to the slip road empty for merging traffic, just driving etiquette. Regarding top speeds, there are many motorways in Germany with no speed limit, and some countries in Europe have top speed of around 90mph on motorways such as Poland. Regarding the speed of electric cars, this is done most likely to preserve the longevity of the battery and to get the best range. Also looking on the VW website here in the UK, the Golf is available with a 1.0 TSI 0-60 9.9 seconds. 1.4 TSI 0-60 8.8 seconds. When looking at the diesels 1.6 TDI is 10.2 and the 2.0 TDI is 8.3s So unless you look at GTi or R then the eGolf at 8.5s is perfectly adequate for the average person.

At last some reviews of real EVs. But what is the point of making them look like ICE cars, we are all adults? I would rather see the fact that EVs do not have a need for a large petrol/diesel engine under the bonnet the design can be designed to have a better external dimensions to internal space ratio, better materials that can be recycled after the much longer life an EV can have. The I-Pace, Zoe, BMW i3 and evening the Tesla are far superior. Car manufacturers please give car drivers some credit, we are not all brainless morons who don’t like change :-)

@johnkellett77975 жыл бұрын
SDav21 , you are the immature one. ICE cars look the way they do because they have a large lump of metal upfront (or in the rear). EVs don’t. How thick are you? Electric motors are much small and best mounted on or near the axles or even individual wheels. With the batteries mounted low down under the seats for best performance/weight distribution. So no they do not need to look like an ICE car, ever, at all.
