On the contrary, Hyundai is as usual the closest to its claims. On second position, the Volkswagen Golf and Volkswagen Up get an excellent 90% of their claimed range. From my (and many others) experience with LiIon batteries it's best practice to charge to 80% when storing. But don't forget the "parasitic" power consumption in a car. There are many little gadgets drawing electricity. Mostly 12V from the traditional lead acid battery but this will be charged from the traction battery. Two weeks won't be a problem, but for longer time I'd hook it up to a normal electricity outlet. It'll maintain it's charge this way and is ready to rock when you get it out again.

I was looking at getting one of these, but the range is an issue. What type of driving were you doing, and what mode did you have it in? I was hoping if it was permanently in eco mode, with fully regen braking on, I might be able to get 200 miles?
@springer-qb4dv4 жыл бұрын
Truth is that range is terrible on ALL electric cars including Teslas. Supposedly 350 mile Telsa gets only 200 miles at brisk highway speeds, and EVEN WORSE in cold weather conditions. Checkout E for Electric channel, where host drove Tesla for few years and often got 40% less range than advertised.

Many people report a range as good as you would expect in this time of the year. Many people also report range improving after you've driven the car a bit - some kind of "break-in". I am not sure you drove economically. Many people like to drive this sporty car sportily and it hurts the range.

@@maxderay I haven't driven the e-208 yet, but I have driven enough of the multi platforms (ICE + electric options) now to know that I was absolutely right in my pessimism. The cars that have been designed as electric from the ground up are (in my opinion) vastly superior to the ICE + electric ones. And by that I mean everything from space utilization to drive feel. forget about electric if u wanna travel with your car... not enough charging stations, and there will be likely someone charging before you can start with your car... if it becomes generalized and the charging is fast like 10 min then I might consider. Currently, this type of cars would only be for short distances / city driving The car looks gorgeous

I've done a test drive in this car, not impressed at all, the driver's seat has to be manually adjusted, that steering wheel is a horrible shape and the car runs out of oomph after 65 mph, did I mention that the doors are small making entry & exit difficult. Not only but also have you seen the price?? I want a lot more car for my £30,000. + the ride is crap.
@NikoLa-yo8ue4 жыл бұрын
It would be much wiser to put a “UK” in the title. Or at least mention it somehow. In our country - there are NO governmental financial incentives whatsoever. Unless you count yearly tax, and free city-center parking (0.5-1€/hr). These are totally negligible. Here’s another kicker for people that want more info of what we are talking about here. This e-208 GT costs 36,000€, in our place the least expensive electric model (Active) is 31,622€. Got that? Okay, then we continue: same trim level, but petrol (Puretech 100 S&S EAT8) costs 17,000€. So, as a fellow European, living in an official EU member state country - I certainly don’t think it’s a good deal.
@steelnutsack844 жыл бұрын
There's no need for a UK company, with a UK presenter, reviewing a car with a UK license plate, and discussing the price in POUNDS to specify that they're talking about the UK.

30 pounds for 100 KW that gives 160 kms (100 miles) and costs according to the charger screen 30 pounds???? 30 pounds for 100 miles is HUGE COST!!! much more than gas!!! no economy going electric?
@markparker55854 жыл бұрын
£30/100kWh would be £15 to completely fill the (50kWh) battery from empty. Official range is around 200 miles, so £15/200 miles, not £30/100 miles. You have to remember also that most EVs leave home fully charged from a domestic supply, so the first 200 miles would cost somewhere between £4 - £7. The 5 gallons of petrol to do the same 200 miles would cost about £30.
@gerokatseros4 жыл бұрын
@@markparker5585 at 1:12 it says a charge of 100KW in 20 minutes will provide 100 miles range ... i guess I missunderstood as she propably wanted to say 100KWh wich in 20 minutes would be 33KW ... this price is better
@markparker55854 жыл бұрын
gerokatseros ah ok, if you aren’t familiar with charging an electric car I understand how it may have been a little confusing in this example. Basically, batteries don’t charge in a linear way, but on a curve. At higher states of charge, charging becomes much slower, which is why you’ll normally find 0-80% times listed, rather than 0-100%, as the last 20% can take longer than the first 80%. She is saying that the Peugeot is able to utilise rapid chargers that can supply 100kW of power, and from 0-80% (0kWh-40kWh for the e208) it will take approximately 30 minutes. You are charged by the energy supplied in kWh, the power it is supplied at (in kW) is irrelevant. So, 40kWh at 30p/kWh would have been a £12 charging fee for the 30 minute charge.
