I've been to Japan recently for the first time in my life. An amazing country, super polite people. And I truly despise the disrespectful behaviours of some/many tourists. Those shown in the video are absolutely disgusting. When people will finally understand that if you travel to some other country, you are a guest, you should respect the local culture and customs. I fully agree with the restrictions imposed by Japanese authorities, I even think they should be more strict with the police and fines. Seriously, if you want to see Mt Fuji, a temple, anything else, just be grateful for this opportunity and do NOT act as if you were ENTITLED to do so! Exactly this attitude pisses me off so much. Japanese can restrict access to areas, they can build fences, they can give fines and (hopefully) put to jail, because it it their home, their country and they set the rules - not some stupid, obnoxious tourists! These should apply to any other place in the world, maybe then some people will finally learn, that their behaviour is wrong and they aren't entitled to anything... 😒😒😒

I live in Tokyo, and every Sunday I have to clean up around my neighborhood because many tourists come to drink outside every weekend. Right now, I’m in the hospital and will be here for a while, but I’m worried about my area-there’s definitely going to be a lot of trash. I want to ask something of people who come to visit our country: please respect our town and its people. It’s okay if you can’t speak Japanese; there’s always someone who can help you

It wasn't in any shape or form mocking the Japanese face features. 14:43 - That line you quote, was said by Johnny Somali in his livestream. Felix here is mocking that livestreamer and noting the obnoxious and scumbag twisted behavior of that person. (Granted, he probably shouldn't repeat those words). @@ChiikawaUnofficial He has to squint to look at the McDonalds menu, which is sometimes difficult to see when you are ordering in the drive-through.
@TheDestelloazul6 ай бұрын
@@ChiikawaUnofficial It's not that he needs to squint his eyes to ask for something in japanese (in this example a McFlurry), rather, in the context of his anecdote, he expresses that he misread the text from the menu, and was asking for something that wasn't a McFlurry, so he decides to squint his eyes to help him focus more and read the text more clearly (as I understand, he wasn't wearing any glasses while ordering). In the video he was illustrating the narration by acting the same way he did the moment he was reading the menu and ordering the food at the restaurant.
As an American tourist and small KZbinr currently in Japan, I try to be as respectful and follow the rules as best as I can and not try to be obnoxious cause I dont want to be seen as one of “those dumb American tourists”. And whenever I see tourists do dumb things, I’m like “really?”. To prove my case, the other day I was at the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, and theres a level crossing on a main railway line. There a signs LITERALLY saying, “DO NOT WALK ON TRACKS TO TAKE PICTURES”. And what did I see people doing? Exactly that! Like Okay, just stand there when the railroad crossing activates. My point is, not everyone is bad, but these kinds of people give tourists a bad rep.

Exactly. Love this. I feel the pressure of all the bad Americans before me, and I feel this same thing for all international travel. It's insane how the bad bratty American tourists seem to try to ruin it for the rest of us

Well, that Japanese folks follow those rules strictly but the foreigners lack of manner and respect is what make it a bigger issue as all Japanese follow those rules! it just gives a bad look that foreigners don’t want respect them ! I mean what citizens from x country would like to see foreigners coming to their country disrespecting rules & way of life !
It's honestly so annoying to see disrespectful KZbinrs try to take advantage of the kind of environment that Japan is known for, it is truly disheartening to see.

My opinion as Japanese. It is said Japanese don't fight back or hesitate to argue but sometimes not really. Japanese people are actually being defensive and offensive at the same time by ignoring. It means "You don't exist in my life so whatever" or "I never go down to your level" and despise them in mind.

However, some people are lack of respect to our culture and rules. We literally hate these people. If you guys don’t wanna follow the rules, you should not visit to and live in Japan. Too many Gaijin go out of their way to do things that are prohibited in their own country because they are not prohibited in Japan. Do they think they are allowed to do whatever they want in Japan? For example, drinking alcohol on the street is not prohibited in Japan. But why is drinking on the street allowed in Japan? It is because there are not enough idiots drinking on the street to prohibit it. If the number of Gaijin drinking alcohol on the streets continues to increase, the time will come when it will be banned.

11:28 That "Ginger Terror" case does look tame, but there was another incident that's probably the one Felix was thinking of initially, where some teenager went to Sushiro (a huge conveyor belt sushi chain) and filmed himself licking the spouts of soy sauce bottles, then licking pieces of sushi on the conveyor belt and putting them back (likely later eaten by unsuspecting customers), etc. The video went viral and caused a hygiene panic which affected Sushiro's revenue and market cap drastically.
