KT Nichole yea she says in the video that she knows it’s her fault, but you can see that she’s pushing more blame towards Michael. She’s not really owning up to what she’s done and what she said in that video didn’t add up with anything neither did what Michael said. They’re are both in the wrong, but it seems like they’re pushing blame on the other person more than themselves and trying to take the attention away from themselves. Well mostly Tanas doing that, but I’m sure in the near future Michael will do the same thing. It’s just Michael and Tana(again) acting like the victim when the victims are the people who were there standing in line for hours. I mean I thought it wasn’t gonna go well, but I didn’t think it was gonna be that bad.

If you're routed to a bad ending, definitely there's horror in it. Altho not all bad endings are not "that" physically horrible. For example, there's this Zen ending that the MC became too obsessed with Zen and the party never happened. The turnout of the events also being affected by the MC's (player's) choices. I don't really understand how Mystic Messenger became that triggering for something psychological. Especially that MM is targeted to market fan girls.

Tana straight up committed fraud. People were lied to, scammed for over $300K, hospitalized or beginning to experience heatstroke, she hired less than half the security she needed to hire, and 20+ police had to give up their time to clean up her mess rather than go after the real problems. And as always, Tana is playing the victim card and GETTING AWAY WITH IT! She clearly deserves to be crying the victim card in court. Someone has to pay for this, and she clearly was in the know with the event coordinator. This is disgusting.

Her name was literally on the thing, and all the merch, she was the center of it!!!!!!!!! It's absolute BULLSHIT that the ticketing company kept everything (they charge a fee -maybe5% of every thicket- but they'd be stealing the profits if they just kept 100% of it)Therefore those guys either gave the money to Tana and Michael OR those two are somehow involved with the ticketing company themselves. Otherwise we would have already seen a law suit from both parts against that ticketing company. Or against the other for the cut of the profits that is rightfully theirs. Do you expect me to believe that Tana was willing to make ZERO money from this? Hell no girl! Conclusion? Both Tana and Michel profited from this, and she did commit fraud. Doesn't mean Michael didn't, it means they both did.

I've been playing with Mystic Messenger for two yrs now and I was never obsessed with it to the point to starve myself or die... In the game the characters tell you NON STOP to eat three meals a day and to sleep. I even deleted it at some point to focus on school but later when school ended I downloaded it again couse I love the game. If the child is behaving differently then maybe ask 'What's wrong?' before something bad happens and you blame the game.

Imola Kim same here!! Im sure it can get a bit addicting for some people but so can every game?? Whats so appealing about MM to me is how in depth and complicated and REAL the characters are. At no point does the game glorifiy the bad things that happen and it treats everything as it should be treated. I currently have the game uninstalled until new content comes out for it because ive played through all the routes. At no point has it felt 'dangerious' or unsafe to me?? Time consuming sure, but in the end it is just a game.

One word to describe the issues in this video: Responsibility. -Tana thought that she could make a "Con" as huge as VidCon. She thought that selling 5 times the amount of tickets would be fine. Now she doesn't want to make responsible for her mistakes. -Parents love to blame the world for what their children do. They blame videogames, the internet, the media, schools, teachers and their kid's friends for whatever kids do nowadays. The truth is that parents are responsible for their children. -And the media just don't care about the truth. They just want to sell, they want likes, they want followers. They aren't responsible and people believe blindly in what they say.

Mystic Messenger never talks about any dark stuff. It's about dating a guy kinda like Doki Doki, but you get to hear their voices and chat, and choose what you wanna say. Yes they had weird times in which you had to do some tasks, like picking up a call at 3am from one of the guys so that you would get the good ending in the end. Always blaming video games that are completely innocent.
@Hexer4044 жыл бұрын
The game does have some dark content, particularly if you get a bad ending or go into the more in depth stories, particularly Seven's. And picking up calls is not exactly a task, not in the sense that it directly asks you to do anything. Other people have said that the game that is actually talked about is Blue Whale, a Russian game where it starts off with small tasks like watching a horror movie and then ending in suicide on the final day.

Honestly speaking, the parents shouldn't be dipping their hands into something they don't understand. Their loss is sad but trying to place misguided blame on other things is just stupid. Either get the facts straight or don't say anything at all. I might as well say that breathing is causing me to die slowly and that I'm drowning from drinking water everyday. Losing a loved one is sad but using their death to create hate is not the right way to mourn them.

Piknos actually, if you watched the video, the parents said it *might* have been factor, not that it was the cause . Also, most people dont act rational when in grief. Its easy to say these things behind a glass screen watching in as an outsider in the comfort of your home. But real life is rarely ever simple enough that it can be described in a set of fluffy words. Like I enjoyed Mystic Messenger and DDLC as games but Im not going to pretend everyone gets it. If people acted rational in stressful states or situations, the later game wouldnt even have a content warning. No the main problem is media, who are in a position to be more objective and get the facts straight, and then decide to do a poorly researched and sensationalized article

@graceobrien99554 жыл бұрын
It might not always be as it seems. I'd just like you to know this isn't me arguing just me informing :) The parents are obviously distraught and are very depressed as they have lost their child. They probably think they have failed and will stop at nothing to figure out what drove their kids to do this. Secondly I bet 99% that the media twisted the words of these poor parents to come up with news. The media will do anything to find something that will bring attention to them even if it hurts many in the process. Hope you are well xx

Games usually don't lead to suicide because people play them to enjoy themselves, that's what it was created for. There isn't too much info in the person's personal life to know if there was another reason that they were feeling suicidal. Also to add, there are times you lose sleep due to playing Mystic Messenger depending on your location (cuz of the different time zone the game has) and I never personally played it, but I used to hear about all the time from my friends. They used to set an alarm to wake up at 3 am just to earn something while texting the boys (I don't remember what they were earning but it was the reason why they came to school tired.

Purely Bloom That isn’t necessarily the game or fictional characters fault but the person. For instance when a bunch of teenagers were in love with JB they started cutting themselves because they didn’t want him to smoke weed.

Oh I know that. No blame can be placed on the creators of a game for a person becoming obsessed with them and despairing over the character not being real to the point of wanting to hurt themselves or die. I was just answering the question as to why would someone kill themselves over Mystic Messenger. I doubt it was the sole reason to the person's suicide, but I could see it having a factor.

Maybe these parents just don’t want to admit it to themselves that their son would commit suicide on his own, and are pointing fingers at the game. Or they are in denial about their inattention towards their sons mental state and are, once again, pointing fingers at the game. I play Mystic Messenger, and it's really an excellent game, but what they said about keeping the players up at night is true. I've taken a break from MM for some time now, but once you start playing you really can't stop unless you want the full experience and don't want to spend money to unlock chatrooms that you missed (because you didn't log into the game at certain times of day). Usually 2 or 3 chatrooms are open at night or really early in the morning (up to 3 am or so). So I definately don't doubt that the game forms addiction. I know it did for me, and I hated missing chatrooms. So even when I had school I would do everything to not miss a chat room (hide my phone under the desk for a minute just to log into the game, form specific routines) and spend money when I missed them. Now don't get me wrong, I already had sleeping problems before I started playing, but I have a feeling the game made them just a little worse. *However* , one thing I disagree with is the remark "you have to do what the characters say or they will do nasty things". It makes it sound like the game is secretly evil or manipulative or something. No it ain't. Apart from keeping you up at night, It doesn't make you do anything because they are just fictional characters in a video game. And though it does goes through some sad themes like depression and suicide, I doubt that it's enough to drive someone to commit it.

i played MM too and remember setting multiple alarm clocks during the night just so i wouldn't miss the chatrooms, so looking back it really was addictive for me. But since MM had so much succes i see more and more of these chat games pop up, so maybe the kid was playing a more fucked up version of MM? that'd explain the 'turning nasty' part, at least. But ofcourse 1 videogame won't just drive a mentally healthy 15 y/o to kill himself, so there was probably more going on for him at the time.

Mystic Messenger is incredibly stressful game in the wrong hands. I’ve been possibly addicted to the game in the past, but never have I ever seen it as a bad influence. Maybe it made me lose sleep a bit because I didn’t want to miss any Chatrooms (which was entirely on my own accord, the game doesn’t require you to do any of that) but I was always responsible enough to handle it. Take this from a person who’s been playing it since I was 13, below the age limit. I have always been responsible enough to limit myself and enjoy it, in a safe way.- If what is implied is that this kid killed him self because of only a video game, then they need some more respect for their child. Obviously something more was going on, kids are not that stupid. Maybe the game was the tip of the iceberg, but that doesn’t deny all the things that has to build up before that.

i am also a player and a fan of the game, I would never imagine someone having that bad of an influence on someone. No character becomes straight up nasty just because you don't do what they wish. The game even ask you if you have been eating or drinking enough quite often, if not then the characters advise you to do so. Even in the midnight chatrooms, the characters say it's late and that you should to sleep. I can't say 100% how the game will effect everyone, but I have read on how the game have helped people, especially with eating and loneliness. Tho as with me as well, I did sleep less than I already do when i played the game, but for me it always comes to a point where i can't bother with a videogames and delete the app or something I agree at that there was definitely more going on and that should be highlighted in media

I played this during summer vacation and not while in school cause I dont want to miss out on any chatrooms and I won't get distracted. It's just all about being responsible. Honestly, my sleep cycle is wacko during summer, but this game let me wake up at 7 to 8 am so i wont miss the chatrooms for that time. Each one just takes a couple of minutes to read. Got me more productive, I dare say. I love this game, and I worry that it might get bad rep.

I've been playing the game ever since it was released and it actually helped me to be more productive since I would wake up early morning so I could never miss a chat. I like playing it during summer vacation since my sleeping pattern is kinda fucked up and I always skip meals, and in the chatroom they would remind me to eat and sleep early lol. I don't see anything that would trigger the player. It's actually great since it will always remind you to eat, sleep, and they even give advices. And I actually learn new things from them lololol

Honestly, being someone who's played Mystic Messenger and Doki Doki, I personally can't see how either game would cause something this extreme. I understand MM a little more than DDLC if you're unaware to what the game is actually about (as I was when I began playing it) but it still wouldn't be bad enough to be the only cause of the boy's death. He must have been going through some shit or have been mentally ill to have even considered killing himself over a video game.

@letogec12456 жыл бұрын
MintleafCakes I just honestly can’t see how mystic messenger could cause a suicide- the characters never say nasty shit unless he played Ray’s route. I haven’t played that route myself but it is kind of disturbing but not disturbing enough to cause a suicide. I believe there is also a warning not to play Ray’s route if it can trigger you. And even in mystic messenger’s normal route it constantly asks if you ate and slept, the developers knew an issue like this might occur so they CONSTANTLY have the characters make sure you’re well and remind you to do things. The only thing that I can imagine why the suicide might’ve occurred over a video game, especially mystic messenger, is that they were mentally ill and genuinely thought it to be real. That’s the only way it makes sense or the game didn’t cause the suicide at all and the parents are just reaching for answers- which I don’t blame them.
@imkiii6 жыл бұрын
I know this was uploaded a LONG time ago but I want to clear something up. Mystic messenger does lure you in, BUT in a sense that makes you BUY items to proceed with the story. It does interrupt your sleep cycle for 11 days which is why it's best to be played on holidays or summer vacation, however the characters aren't "nasty", they will become rude if you ignore them a lot but they don't do anything apart, and far as i remember there aren't tasks. The game is fun,silly and cute with some suspension in there but to cause death? That's an exaggeration.

...as well as mystic messenger. I can’t imagine an otome game like that will drive anyone to suicide (it’s otome - love story for girls and no frustration or pressure whatsoever). They are a kind of light novel anime. I think the parents need to find out the real reasons, not rely on their prejudices of online gaming.

Mystic Messenger was honestly severely addictive. It gives you the attention, affection, and openness humans naturally crave. It makes you fall in love with broken people you can “fix.” Giving you a feeling of satisfaction and relief. I got so sucked into it. But after being in the real world for a long time, it lost its appeal. I found other things to stimulate me in a healthier more positive way.

little pancake alot of people were addicted to it. It's a VERY good game xD and interesting. It's a story choice game where you interact with the characters and see stories/situations unfold. It doesn't appeal to me as much anymore either though. But don't judge someone if you don't even know the game or played it yourself. Anyways, I don't think that's the game that caused his death. The game is mostly targeted towards females, it's possible he plays it, but it's more possible that he played the game Blue Whale. It fits the describtion more, that game gives you challenges including suicide on the last challenge. Knowing that he mightve played and did all those challenges, he most likely have been depressed before the game.
@emily-rainbeetle78566 жыл бұрын
Okay, don't get me wrong, I love mystic messenger.... but it's a game. Most people who play know it's a game, and it's not unhealthy if you remember that it's not real. No one should blame the game because the player got too attached to it.
@puggygirl11ash6 жыл бұрын
I used to be highly addicted to Mystic Messenger as well. And it's understandable that it is addictive. Especially towards female audiences. I actually knew of fans that would get legitimately depressed because they would get so attached to the characters, even though the characters are not real. A fan even confessed that they contemplated suicide because of how attached they got to the game. Which mind you is very frightening and those particular fans need serious mental help. Hearing about all of that really deterred me away from the game.

I remember that one time I was playing a video game and having so much fun, I thought about suicide /s If a kid is starting to do extreme things like isolating and becoming addicted to a video game, my guess is that something else is troubling him/her and that they are using that medium as an escape from what is really going on. The reason to play games or watch a movie is mostly to escape reality. Which is fine casually. But if it's becoming excessive, it's probably something else causing the problem. Just like when I was young there was always 1-2 kids that would always be reading novels, and by always I mean recess, lunch, bus, etc. It wasn't so much that they loved reading, but more that they really really did not want to be where they were.

Saying the poor kid killed himself solely because of a damn game is so disrespectful. Who knows how many both complex and simple issues that dude was going through? People that kill themselves never have one sole reason; it’s a build up.
