Story: There was an ancient civilization that lived in giant caverns in the ocean. They were bound to the ocean, and they worshipped the light. The light is a supernatural place of infinite energy and a fuel for the creation of life. At first, this ancient civilization was quite primitive, and they lived off of the oceans power through natural means, like eating fish. As they advanced, they needed to be able to harness the ocean and use its energy. This is why the red jars were created, as they could store the oceans energy inside them. The civilization also learned that giving the energy back to the ocean created life. They advanced, creating enormous underwater cities and they flourished using the infinite power of the ocean. They built monuments to the energy source, and to the great white shark, the guardian of the energy and the light. But these ancient people were careful, and they knew how to keep the ocean balanced. As long as the four wells were active, the ocean was healthy. They built temples around the wells to protect them, and drew hieroglyphics on the walls to warn future people about the dangers of destroying these wells. At some point, these people ditched their old ways and only focused on progressing themselves, no matter what happened to the ocean they depended on. That's how the Pyramid was born. It was a way to automate the harvesting of the ocean. Only one of these enormous machines were built. They were protected by hostile floating electric mines, which showed the lack of caring about the ocean. Eventually the people found the wells, as the old cities had been unfound for a very long time. They saw the hieroglyphics, and realized that they had made a grave mistake, and it was too late to survive. The ocean was falling apart, and they had to do something fast. They needed someone to restore the ocean and undo their mistake, even if they weren't there to see it. They decided to create their highest technical achievement yet, a mechanical person set on destroying the machines which made it, and restoring the ocean. It was a desperate attempt, and the people were already dying before this mechanical person could be turned on, so they dumped it into a random reef, and hoped it would wake up and begin its journey. And it did...

I get that I'm a couple years late to the party, but I believe that the civilisation turned on themselves and began to merge themselves with the machines they created. you can see in the factory the glowing orbs being placed inside the drones and the mines; i believe there are beings trapped below, forced to give up their orbs to fuel the machines

This is the actual story. (In my opinion) A long time ago these humanoid figures used red vases (as seen in the ancient prehistoric kingdom) to pour life into what was once empty waters. All of these palaces and kingdoms belonged to an ancient civilization. The civilization, growing advanced, started to develop technology. The purpose of the character is to carry the power of the seas within itself. As you can see in the last video, the machine ship showed that the character can hold the life of the ocean inside itself. The humanoids can only hold it with vases. As you saw on the wall from the last video, the humanoids worshipped the shark in a godly fashion. The shark is the ocean's noble protector. When he saw the mini robot from the first gameplay he ate because he's a shark. Seeing the triangular bombs, the shark did everything to stop them. And died doing so. But our character revived him and healed himself as well. So they destroyed the bombs and once again gave great joy and balance back to the ocean. You were the last figure of your civilization because if you've ever had Abzu, the civilization took to the sky's, this time colonizing the air.
