Mike August If anything only Felix Jones can be considered a bust. McFadden was a solid player. Probably underachieved considering his draft position and hype surrounding him, but had a good NFL career. And Hillis, for a 7th round pick player overachieved. Can’t consider him a bust. But he did mess up after he got his money.

@@cruman87 Yeah, Felix was garbage but meh, I just remember the hype-train for McFadden being off the charts & he ended up being such an average player. Always hurt all the time too, he screwed so, so many fantasy owners. Big let-down being the #4 overall pick. Yes Hillis overachieved considering his draft position, but he straight fell of a cliff after that Madden cover. Like literally - you never heard from him again.

@@Zack29810Not really. Though he didn't last, most guys who run to contact don't, he was extremely effective at running, catching and blocking. That he battered tacklers, rather than shed them or outrun them, made for great entertainment. If you weren't watching say pre 1995 NFL, you didn't see this violent running style often. Truth Hurts idk if you’re trolling or if you’re a bitter browns fan or what. But I’m a browns fan, and I can tell you right now. I remember all of this very clearly. He WAS the Browns offense. It was no secret he was going to get 30 carries every game and break down the defense. He was a “one year wonder” because he never really got a shot before that, and his knees failed him afterwards because nobody wanted to catch his shoulder pads so they tried to cut him every play. So him asking for money would be the same as Todd Gurley asking for more money. They are going to have medical bills in the very near future, and they won’t be playing for much longer. He knew he couldn’t go 5 more years. Colt McCoy is still in the NFL. He meant much less to that team than Hillis. I don’t care if you have an opinion, just don’t act like he’s a bad person for trying to get paid as if he gave Browns fans a reason to show up every Sunday and he was going to need knee replacements before he was 40.

I had seen his game vs Cleveland the year before so I decided to take a flier on him and drafted Hillis in the last round of my fantasy league, over Hardesty or w.e. his name was who was projected to be the starter. The whole league laughed at the pick and thought I was crazy. I would go on to win that fantasy season in large part thanks to Peyton Hillis and that late round flier on a kid no one had ever even heard of. A year later, he was on my team again as it was a keeper league and my fantasy team went the same way Peyton’s career ended up LMAO

What an awesome video and story. I remember how fast he came, and quickly he disappeared. He seems like a good guy, one of us so to speak. He stayed humble (even so still) and seems to have great perspective about it all. Thanks for the memories Mr. Hillis, and gl in the rest of life.

The irony of Peyton's stardom. White running back, black coach. Plays running back against the Browns, Browns traded for him. Brown Beat the Patriots, Tom Brady had long hair at the time. Michael Vick is throwing accurate passes at the time.

@jerry cruz The Eagles were not a "beast team" in January 2011 (2010 playoffs). Vick struggled mightily down the stretch of the regular season in 2010 and the Eagles weren't as good as in the first half. Literally like 3 weeks earlier the Eagles lost to JOE WEBB and the Vikings lol! Mike Vick had a phenomenal stretch during the first half of 2010 but it faded by year's end. The league caught up with his gimmick. There is nothing to believe the Eagles "could have made the Super Bowl" in 2010. Vick had the ball in his hands with plenty of time to play, only needing a touchdown, and they go up by 3 points if they hit the conversion. He threw a god-awful pick to Tramon Williams in the end zone with plenty of time left. The pass was intended for Riley Cooper lmao! Tell me....why is he forcing the ball to RILEY COOPER? He's got DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin out there! And Shady in the backfield! The Eagles deserved to lose that game. Rodgers and the Pack were better. I'm a huge Eagles fan and remember this game like it was yesterday. Rodgers played superb. Vick choked.

Its an uphill battle trying to win a national championship when your qb is Casey Dick. Team success aside, that was one of, if not the greatest season a trio of backs has ever had at any school in NCAA history.
