How strange, I just came looking at your channel to see whether you did any Disturbed covers after I'd heard you on a Jonathan Young collab (definitely not for the first time) and it struck me how much the sound of your voice reminded me of Disturbed! I legit thought this said 3 years ago, not 3 days ago! Indeed, there is something about your voice that fits perfectly :D

I am coming to listen to this version again and again... I am a 60 years old metal head so I know the original from Simon & Garfunkel. I loved that song from the first time as I was a child. Over the years my music changed a lot. In the 70's/80's I was listening to bands like Uriah Heep, Deep Purple and, yes, Bob Marley... It changed to bands like AC/DC, Metallica, SOAD etc. Honestly I didn't know Disturbed before but when their version get viral it blew me away it was like a explosion inside of me that want to break out and I was really happy... This version hit me like a bomb and I heard it day after day many times for weeks. This song couldn't be sang better.... I thought... I know PP from Valhalla calling and there he hooked me up... His voice is so powerful and unique and his look fit perfect for vikings... My ancestors were vikings from Sweden and I felt always connected to the North since I was a child. My whole family want to travel to Spain, North Africa, Mexico etc and I was always pissed of cause I want to travel to whole Scandinavia... My granddad gave me a book at my 18. birthday and told me to read it soon cause it would make me happy... And it does... This was our family tree our history starting 967 a.c. in Sweden... They were real vikings and over the centuries they come closer and closer to Germany. Our swedish second name was Bengtson and it changed into Bengsch... I am a great viking fan in many ways and of course I love viking music... That's how I met PP. When I saw that he made a cover of Sound of silence I wasn't sure if I want to hear it cause I thought it could be dissapointing cause who could do the singing part better than David... Surprise surprise - I couldn't believe it... Honestly I can't say it is better or so but you made this song yours this is a damned fantastic original PP.... I love how you transport the little changes here and there through the complete song you made it yours with your epic voice and your interpretation... I don't know what to write more - just let me say I LOVE IT ✊💥🔥🙌🔥💥✊

COME TO REPENTANCE BY CALLING ON THE NAME OF THE LORD AND BORN AGAIN = GET SAVED AND GO UP NOT DOWN. "what happens in the afterlife" - well it is written in the bible: read soul - read it. If We, who die as saved aka saints before the RAPTURE or after - we are going into ABRAHAM`S BOSOM to wait there THE DAY OF JUDGMENT. Later we move into heaven and inherit the NEW EARTH. If we die as wicked sinners - then down into Hell we go and wait there THE DAY OF JUDGMENT and later move into the LAKE OF FIRE - burning there forever. That`s all, nothing more to add nor take away. Dude you are going to burn forever in the lake full of fire and being the whole time in regrets. You say your a gay and carring all the other wicked titles, THE REPENT. REPENT form all of you sins and go and sin no more. You caring or not caring ain`t change whats awaits you after your time on earth is done. THERE`S NO DEATH, A SPIRIT CANNOT DIE. THERE`S ONLY A DEPARTING ONE`S BODY. I never been chatolic nor do i come form the house of chatolics. My family members are atehists and buddists - they believe these lies. Sadly even they are still blinded by their PRIDE and that keeps then seeking out the MISSING KNOWLEDGE. THE RAPTURE CAN TAKE PLACE EVERY GIVEN MOMENT: What if i`m founded worthy too and VANISH SUDDENLY? WHO then will be still on this earth HELPING THE LOST? And how many will there be? I am fully aware also that the “coin” can be on the other side and I`d be found unworthy to escape and will be left behind to go through the TRIBULATION PERIOD. Children can see the spiritual realm, yes. but the ghost they do see are not HUMANS, in every time when your children came out with these stories, about their “afterlives” and their “friends” you are then dealing with DEMONS. Hebrews 9:27 | View whole chapter | See verse in context And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: That one verse from bible proofs that no HUMAN SOUL stays on earth "hunting" , we all go back into the presence of GOD. But there is of course a little different`s: If We, who die as saved aka saints before the RAPTURE or after - we are going into ABRAHAM`S BOSOM to wait there THE DAY OF JUDGMENT. Later we move into heaven and inherit the NEW EARTH. If we die as wicked sinners - then down into Hell we go and wait there THE DAY OF JUDGMENT and later move into the LAKE OF FIRE - burning there forever. There`is no reincarnation. No cycle to come to outlive again and again. Once we leave this realm, we are then TRULY GONE. That`s the road for a HUMAN SOULS. Therefore do not take your and mine enemies as fools. For they have been on this earth up to 6000 + years and how long we, humans are here? - only up to 120 years. Therefore our enemies can imitate us very easily - those who live and those who are dead. Our enemies, the fallen ones/angels can imitate both side. Because they know it all, they witness it all, because they are here with us just behind the curtains of a human eyes. They are spirits, without a body like we have, that`s the reason we can`t see them, but they do see and hear us and they are the same much alive and real as we are. So, all the souls of humans: Ephesians 6:10-18 - Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Ephesians 6:11 - Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Remember to abide in CHRIST, then: Isaiah 54:17 | View whole chapter | See verse in context No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. Being baptized = being died with CHRIST , buried with CHRIST and resurrected with CHRIST. How many times CHRIST died for us - was buried for us and resurrected for us? - ONLY ONCE.

I disagree. The Simon and Garfunkle is basically a mockery of the song. Theirs is too light hearted for the lyrics of the song. You can say that they popularized it, but Disturbed are the ones that mastered it. In this one Peyton nailed it and indeed gave it a more epic feel to it.
@scott29642 жыл бұрын
The original, yes. I never understood why people liked it better. They must have thought so too, because when they themselves sang it later (in the 90's I think) it was completely different. So it was nice but disturbed already covered it ..no need to keep covering it ..sounds pretty much like disturbs version anyway
@DaisyGray742 жыл бұрын
@@susannthomas5273 The colors are there, but Peyton still made changes and made it his own. The beauty of covers is that everyone is entitled to their own version of it. Who are we to say there are enough covers, hmm? I say that there’s never enough. Lol.

I love that you've made this completely your own!!...not "just" another cover, you've put your own stamp on it which arguably works extremely well! Amazing 👍👍

My parents are both fans of Simon and Garfunkel, and both think that not only did you do justice to this song, but that your cover is the best they've ever heard, and asked me to pass along a thank you for such a master piece. You rock Peyton!

1964 - Simon & Garfunkel. I was just two years old but later when I started to listen to music I was about 7/8 years old and I loved that song very much... I grew up getting a hard rocker and later a metal head... Disturbed covered the song 2015 and it blew me away... It was so intensive so pure so powerful and David's voice is evil and angelic and I got chills and goosebumps and I started crying... And in 2021 Peyton came with his cover and it came like Thor's hammer in my head and in my heart... You can't compare the covers that's Impossible... Honestly S & G are now ranked place 3 but honestly I can't say which one is number one... David sang it with so much power and so many emotions and it touched me from head to toe... Peyton has this powerful unique voice and he made it his own song cause he didn't followed the original that much... I love both versions so much they make me happy and they give some of their power to me... I am 61 now and still a metal head but honestly I don't listen 💯% only metal. I am a great fan of viking music I love some classic music but without singing and only with violine and/or piano. I love Irish folk and mediaval music and some other things. Today I just have three wishes before I left this world... First wish is I wanna get burried in Sweden like a viking like my ancestors had it... Second wish is maybe weird but I wish that my grandchilds don't get kids cause this world is so sick and it's getting worse and worse every day and I don't want that my descendants are living in horrible circumstances so horrible we can't imagine today... Third wish is I don't want that my people are sad when I die cause my life was sad, happy, serious, freaky like a Rollercoaster and I am happy with it. That's why I wish that my people don't cry they should party and I don't want sad music. My third wish has two parts... Have fun, have a great party with a duet of Disturbed and Peyton singing sound of silence together . And I am sure Valhalla will open the doors wide to welcome a reborn shieldmaid rushing in with the best song ever ✊🔥🤘🍗🍺🛡️🗡️🐎⚡🔥✊

Peyton - are you even aware of how amazing your interpretations are? I love this song & was a young teen when S & G sang it.they were awesome. But you young man, with your Deep, raspy, gorgeous voice & the emotions you bring out in every song, simply amazing. So glad I accidentally found you while searching the web!

If I could make a wish, I would like to hear a cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah from you. I can imagine that this cover would be one of the songs that could even outdo the original. I think your own music as well as your covers are phenomenal, please keep it up.
