Yes, it is an interesting and very good old mechanical machine. You don't need a wheel with seams, you can use this quite normally, you can print, plasticize and join the two parts to make it look like the original wheel, but a bit bigger. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnyzknSNnJhjZpI

Yes, with position E you can shrink or extend the decorative stitch, even much more advanced sewing machines do not have that option.

Thanks I see where my problem is other than missing a few oil spots under the top carriage you removed. My stitch width control does not move like yours when I am trying to do patterns ! It is possible, does your sewing machine have a "D" position.? There are Pfaff 260 models that do not have "C, D, E" buttons.

I found the instructions and it says that if I want to there is a way to “upgrade” my 260 to a 260-261 automatic (that’s how my instruction call the machine you show in this video) but only a professional pfaff employee can do it and in my town there is no pfaff stores... so I think i can’t do anything else. I have another question to ask you since you were so kind to answer me, do you have other video that explain how to make this machine work? Because my machine works but the fabric get stuck in the needle plate, in the same hole where the thread from the bobbin comes out. I even clean under the machine because I thought it was because of the dust and dirt, but now that is clean it still don’t work well... Thank you again!

@@ceciliapalazzo6471 So forget about "upgrading" your Pfaff sewing machine, Your other listed problem can arise for many reasons, I can just to list some of them, first of hook timing, upper and lower thread tension, needle / feed dog coordination ... etc. I don't have a video, unfortunately the conditions I have for filming are very modest. Es muy importante saber qué modelo de máquina de coser es, puedes mirar tu cinturón viejo y contar los anillos de metal. Reemplazar la correa es muy sencillo, es en tu caso el menor problema, me refiero a la correa del motor. @@MasinskiKutak Nope, it’s a straight and zigzag stitch machine but the manual refers to the design dial and says that the dial is only the primary designs the machine can do, and that you can make countless variations that are “staggering even to imagine” by changing the length of the pattern or using two needles. I don’t know much about it, I haven’t had an older machine before but my husband picked up a 1904 Singer treadle machine for $7 and the Pfaff 259 for $6 (both with cabinets!) at local auctions this month so I’m about to learn really fast ha! The Singer needs some work before it’ll be ready but the Pfaff is pretty clean-just going to make sure I got the dust out of it and give it some oil and get started sewing, can’t wait!

@@MasinskiKutak I found the instruction manual online; you can see how the front of the machine is different from the 260, and page 50 of the manual is where it talks about converting it to a 260.

Have you figured out how to do a "blind hem stitch"...I know it cannot do a "multi- zig zag" but blind hem would be nice.. It is such a great machine but the functional stitches are "underwhelming"...

Actually there is a zig zag stitch that can be used as a " blind hem" stitch- an "extended arrowhead " stitch, not the best.. I downloaded the instruction manual and saw an example of what Pfaff considered a " blind hem" stitch.. It is a disappointment that such a well made machine has no utility stitches, only silly, useless embroidery stitches....

My old 230 does not HAVE The same kind of needle centering knob as that model mine has another Chrome plated notch lever at the bottom and it goes from 1 to 4 I believe and it moves back and forth as it does the decorative stitch in other words it's not the same knob below the one through five knob it's older They just changed it it does the same thing on yours only it's just two levers instead of a big knob
