I’d like to recommend Mark Milhofer’s version, from his latest album dedicated to songs by and for Caruso. I’ve heard this song various times by various Tenors already and I have to say that Milhofer’s version is my favourite (on his YT channel there are several versions, the one from his Lanza/Caruso recital is the best for me).

I agree with you completely bendabledoll about Corelli. He combines commitment with artistry and a virile and often gentle passion. And as you said his facial expression show so much. I also agree with you that in maturity he became better I have also noticed this phenomenon with many singers where other people have said they were "past their prime". I prefer the calm maturity of experience of an older person to the screeching insecurity of a younger singer.

Franco Corelli naciò en 1921, en ese concierto tenìa 50 años, no era grande para la carrera de un tenor, pero sì que Franco cantò roles muy pesados, ademàs de ser un hombre muy nervioso, por esa razòn 3 años despuès de este concierto abandonò su carrera, que fue grandiosa.
