I think the main reason veheato and Gogetta have such a massive "who is better" debate that still hasn't ended is because at the beginning we were teased with the mentioning of the fusion dance. After that goten and trunks started their training and then the fusion reborn movie came out around the time gotenks was mastered. After all that build up we get vehito who was incredible. But then gogetta was deemed non canon and gt released. Which was also deemed non canon. So for the longest time we had one appearance of vehito who didn't win exactly but accomplished his main goal to rescue everyone absorbed and we had one appearance of gogetta who used a move that is basically the Hakai of evil beings and bye bye buhnenba. . . . Ima be honest I forgot what the reason was I started this comment so instead of erasing it all ima just post it to see what people can add on or say about it. 😅

Vegito is my favorite character in DBZ and in all of anime. I have always said that Vegito is without a doubt the strongest character in the entire series bar none, since Potara is stronger than fusion dance. For real though if Goku and Vegeta (well mainly Vegeta) held onto Potara earrings, and getting pushed, they could fuse to Vegito, beat the ever living daylights out of the other guy and when the Potara fusion wears off, immediately go into fusion dance with Gogeta. Since Vegito has a time limit, and tends to drag out fights he's perfect for breaking down the enemy, causing damage, and psychological damage, then Gogeta is the guy that just gets the job done. I mean they have to nerf Vegito SO HARD in DBZ and especially DBS (you not going to tell me freaking SSJB Vegito would have ANY difficulty fighting anyone in the verse. But they had to go crazy with power levels and retconning crap just so anyone in DBS would stand a chance against SSJB Goku and Vegeta let alone both their fusions. That is how I always felt about Gogeta, he not as strong as Vegito but he (at least before DBS made him do a 180 to act more like Vegito, cuz Vegito is just that much of a boss I guess they needed him to make the Broly fight better) is the one that will waste almost no time to pack you up with quickness. I don't see why they couldn't use this (other than Vegeta pride getting in the way), they would have so many ways in which to make a comeback. Especially if they do it after the Tournament of Power, Vegito with either UI or Ultra Ego (or even both at the same time) would probably beat the brakes off of Beerus and be hard pressing Wis in a fight. And they could do this after Goku and Vegeta wore themselves out using MIU and Ultra Ego, stamina blinking then Potara Fusion, let Vegito to cook them, then after time runs out fusion dance, and Gogeta will have a prime tenderized enemy with PTSD, Stamina blinking and everything and just straight boom them with Stardust breaker while in Ultra Ego or UI (Honestly wouldn't know if a UI Gogeta's Stardust breaker would be as powerful as an Ultra Ego one in terms of raw power. Or just be in MIU and Ultra Ego mode at the same time (nothing says they can't do this if they wanted to, though if Vegito had MIU he probably would be laser focused on cooking you with style and quickness, so he might not even need to worry about the time limit since MIU kind of changes the mindset, and Vegito locked in not playing around means your done, cooked, no chance probably only got like a couple of minutes left to say your prayers because Vegito not playing around would pack practically everyone in that verse. (especially if he combines MIU with Ultra Ego for even more power then who knows what would happen, probably almost break the Universe just by powering up a Final Kamehameha with Vegito or a MIU/Ultra Ego enhance Stardust breaker. And just to show a kind of speculative approximation if we use power levels from the lore, you can see the huge gap between Vegito and Gogeta (with Vegito being a multiplier and Gogeta being an additive. Course had ChatGPT 4o (Ya Ya I know, using AI can be iffy, but probably do a better job than me at it.) do all that calculation and stuff with some assumptions (Vegito pretty much has 6 to 9 digits more than Gogeta in all aspects. It assumes UI and Ultra Ego is a 100,000 multiplier. Mixing MIU would make it even more speculative so not going to go that far.) (Just the Summary, GPT 4o broke them all down for each to get the totals, multipliers and additives.)
