PHANTOM 4: Weak Transmission Issue Resolved!

Nice flight Sir..... I'm also a PHANTOM 4 flyer, I love long range flight but the drone can only fly in 1.3km lost signal, as I know p4 can navigate up to 5km, but I can't go for that range..... this is my problem.

I don't usually fly at long distances from the controller, so I'm not sure why you're limited. I've read that cell towers and high power electrical lines can have an effect on communication. Wish I could offer more expertise on this, but maybe someone else can chime in. ? Thanks for the comment!

Should check the area if you are nearby cell towers, it affects the signal

So I have a problem, I just got a phantom 4 standard and I see these videos of people flying them about 1,650 or something like that away. Mine struggles to get past 650 feet away and I can’t seem to know why. Any help?

Does it just stop going? Is there interference in the area like a radio tower or something?

My Phantom 4 has terrible range issues maybe 2000 ft before I lose signal . So frustrating. Any ideas what I might need to replace to get back on track.

I really don't know the answer to that, but you might contact Ken Heron on KZbin. He's pretty much an expert on all things Phantom 4. Good luck finding out what the issue is.

Hello, I have phantom 4 pro. I started to get weak image transmission signal warning and my phone screen shows black/green only. I checked & played with the HD settings but no success. According to the dji app, i have the latest firmwares, however when i check the release notes on the dji website, it says that the rc firmware should be 1.4.1.0 whereas the "about" section on the app shows that i have 1.9.2+ for the RC... i always did the updates via the app according to its notifications but there seems to be an inconsistency. Can this be the reason for the weak image transmission signal? If yes, how do i get the correct& corresponding rc firmware via the app? Thank you

Hey Magnum. Your horizon is not level. You need to do two things to correct that. 1 calibrate the IMU on a level surface. Make sure you do this when the phantom is cold before its had a chance to warm up. 2 once the IMU has been calibrated then calibrate the gimbal (If you generally fly with an ND filter in place then make sure that is fitted) You must not move the phantom during calibration apart from when the promps tell you to. You will have to orientate it during the calibration procedure. It's quite straight forward and should fix your horizon level. Don't forget to calibrate the compass afterwards also. Sandy

EDIT: Nope, worthless video. For anyone that is coming here looking for help with an actual problem, move on. This issue was antenna position, something that is covered in the manual, and is common knowledge and common sense.

Hi I had exactly same issue with my one(p3s). I tried many thing... Solution was so easy! Try to keep radio and phone /tablet separately. I mean like 50cm to 1m away from each other! Let me know the results

There are more issues with the Phantom 4 losing signal then just the antenna placement.

My Mavic Pro 1 has three times the range of my Phantom 4 Pro . I just think the Mavic has a better radio than the Phantom 4 Pro but some things are better on the Phantom like Active Track seems to stay locked on better than it does on the Mavic . The Mavic don't have Draw mode . But I am disappointed in the range of the Phantom 4 pro .
