I just wanna say man, the S1H Lut pack (11) is really something else. Been using em more and more, on stills too...loving what I'm getting.

What's even crazier is lol.. I've been using the BMD Luts on the S5ii, and not even in V-Log.. I usually use Cine-D but, I just loaded up the luts, and toggle / select them from "REAL TIME LUT" and just shoot lol. It's interesting, but working lol.

Hi.. In line with the colorspace under LUTS… it seems that the Apple log color space is better than Rec709 using the Phantom Lut. Is it okay to use the Apple Log color space instead of Rec709. It’s so confusing to be honest.
@phantomluts7 ай бұрын
It is confusing! But that's why we made this video 😁 Set Colour Space to 'Apple Log - HDR' (this tells the app to record in LOG), and set Colour Space Tag to 'Rec.709' (this configures the app for the final colour space of Rec.709). If you set Colour Space Tag to 'Apple Log' instead, it will throw-off your exposure and even oversaturate some colours and although some scenes will look punchy, the skintones and colour accuracy will suffer, and ultimately you'll loose that organic ARRI look and feel that has been the standard in the cinema industry for decades! You need to set the colour tag to 709 so you can see how the LUT is accurately going to look like in post on your NLE when you're shooting.

How’s the quality if I used the h.265 codec?

I've never tried it actually.

Any tips on how to expose for Apple Log? Do I need to overexpose or anything?
@phantomluts7 ай бұрын
No need to overexpose at all :) Just be sure to monitor with your LUT on and set the colour tag in the LUT menu to rec709 and you'll be fine.

When setting the preset white balance, do you just set the tint to 0 or adjust accordingly?

I like to start with +10 magenta in most scenarios (as my iPhone skews quite green) but it depends on your iphone and scene.

I have files in folders '33x' and '65x'. There is no mention of its meaning. Which folders should I use and why does the ARRI folder list things such as 'ice blue' and 'Jamaica'?
@phantomluts3 ай бұрын
Thanks for that feedback - the readme should have an explanation for the 33x vs 65x - I'll get on that. In short, just use the 65x - they're larger, higher quality versions - we only include 33x versions for other Apps people use other than the Blackmagic App which only accept 33x versions. In regards to the 'Ice blue' and 'Jamaica', I recommend having another read of the product page which explains them. TLDR they're alternative flavours/looks of the Neutral.

Any way to use the Phantom LUT on a Samsung S24 Ultra? Can I use this on the S24 Ultra?

Samsung doesn't have an official Log profile, so unfortunately not

Hi I wanted to ask, if we film in 24fps, should we use 1/48 shutter speed?
@phantomluts2 ай бұрын
The general rule is double the frame rate, or 180 degrees. So yes 1/48 will work well!

I recorded video with LUTS on but when I save the video its doesn’t get saved with LUTS applied video, instead just a normal video. PLEASE HELP ME.
@phantomluts5 ай бұрын
It's always best to apply 65x LUTs in editing, but to bake in your LUT; under the LUTs section - turn on "Record LUT to Clip"

It’s so confusing that the color space is 709.
@phantomluts7 ай бұрын
Yeah? But these are rec709 LUTs - and the rec709 colour tag is in the LUTs Menu not the recording menu.
@skymakai7 ай бұрын
@@phantomluts So does that setting matter if it’s just a color space tag? Why would you want to tag log video as 709?
@phantomluts7 ай бұрын
Good question, the app wants to know which colour space the LUT is going to take the Log footage - so setting it to Rec.709 indicates to the app that this will be the final colour space.
@jeroendecloe38693 ай бұрын
@@phantomluts just purchased. Does this mean the final footage is no longer HDR?
@phantomluts3 ай бұрын
@@jeroendecloe3869 thanks for your purchase. The final footage is still Log HDR yes. It just means that while you're previewing the LUT on your phone as you shoot, it will look correct.
