I learned to drive in a Peterbilt cabover & spent most of my 3 years driving in cabovers. I loved their maneuverability when backing. It's strange to me that there isn't a place for them anymore. My last job was a Volvo & it rode smooth as silk. Cabovers are rough riding for sure.

Most old timers: fit and trim, no shorts and flip flops, hair in a bun (tells you a lot of what they think about their career). it is just a job now. I remember boot shine shops in truck stops and BARBER shops.

Love those emeryvilles. Worked for a company that had some in the seventies. But never got to drive them. Great video.

I worked for a 'non Union' subsidiary of Bigge Crane & Rigging back in 02-03. Great company to work for with awesome benefits & respect for their people.

After McLean wrecked too many shipments I got a plant to use Smith's from Albany GA to Milwaukee. Usually got there a day earlier and our loads were non palletized the boxes didn't even look like they were touched. Sadly the deregulation era caught up with them
