Why is it here in America and lets say around 15 to 1600 AD there was a lot of infaces put on the father being the head instead of the mother and back in BCE there were a lot of infaces put on the mother playing a major role in the Kings life?

Thanks, Cam. Now that I watched this, I may have Imhotep confused with Amenhotep. I won't pretend that I know anything about Egyptian history at this level, but I did know that there was a "brotherly love" between Djoser and Imhotep, so why would they quarrel about anything when it came to what role Imhotep played in the kingdom? Things made more sense between Akhenaten and the Amun priesthood. The Amun's were too powerful and infringing on Akhenaten's power and influence, so he broke them down; took their wealth and power, and disbanded them to protect his hegemony. In terms of Akhenaten? Yeah it was necessary to put them out of business. Bring their resources under his umbrella, and to make sure they didn't come back, knock down their buildings and temples and build new ones with his name on them in their place. Until he died, then they made a comeback. Sounds like they had to bide their time. I'm wondering if they killed a lot of leaders from the Amun priesthood to make sure that they weren't doing anything behind the scenes; to throw a coup, for instance. The Amarna Heresy is new to me. I'm wondering what went on there. I can see why they implemented their own military, making sure that what happened under Akhenaten didn't happen again; that was "forward thinking"! Sidenote is that we see this same thing with the Vatican. While the Pope doesn't have his own army. The Holy See, has the Pontifical Swiss Guard, the Noble Guard, the Palatine Guard, and the Papal Gendarmerie Corps, and they're really secretive about what they do, and threw their weight around the same way the Amun's did; like the Crusades. They have the same regionalism with Cardinals and Bishops in a "diocese". It's almost like they copied them. I have the feeling that having more contact with the Greeks and their flavor of Democracy compelled them to change the way they functioned in the kingdom and focused on reaching out to other cultures, and exchange ideas and practices, and they adopted some of them. It's an assumption but I''m getting ready to go off on a tangent, so I'll stop here. This was good, but I am wondering if Hem-ntjer-tepi / Hem netjer en en-netjer / Hem Netjer Tepi were titles or the names of people.
