Stagestep people said I need to get rid of carpet then put on vinyl mat. Do you think I can put plywood on any carpet and then lay vinyl on it? I am thinking buy vinyl of 5.5 mm thickness.

Great idea & video. Why did you use marine grade Sande plywood rather than rough cheaper plywood for the first layer with good one side plywood as the top layer? Did you use wood filler or something similar to smooth out the tops of the wood screws before applying the Marley floor?
@PharmDTips3 жыл бұрын
I didn't use the cheaper plywood simply because it wasn't even and I didn't know how it would affect my dance floor. I just bought the more expensive one. You could try it and let me know if it works!

Do you need Marley floor if you use wood polish and wax the wood?
@PharmDTips3 жыл бұрын
It depends what you are using it for. The Marley floor is mainly for ballet.
@pipercovey41773 жыл бұрын
is this the type of flooring that most dance studios use?

Yes, I believe so. There are different variations of the Marley floor though. Some are thicker than others.

EMPHASIS needs to be given this is ONLY to be installed on wood flooring with carpet NOT basement concrete with carpet. Regrettably I just installed a 7x9 one of these using the exact materials and there is no give or spring or bounce. Disappointed daughter and now need to figure our sub layer of foam or pool noodles like professionals would have done.
@mayaaralimatti11 ай бұрын
Hey I was thinking of doing this o for our basement which has carpet. When I press on the carpet it does feel a bit bouncy, did yours feel that way?im concerned now that you say it didn’t work for your basement.
