So this is what took them so long to develop and test? It feels like Phase 4 has so much less content in comparison with P1, P2 and P3. The runes for the most classes look totally boring or broken, some playstyles are going from almost broken to dead (melee hunter) and the others dont even get big buffs. Recycling nightmare incursions is a big L and the same pvp event when having stuff like EPL in the game will make it totally unattractive for PvPers also. Really disappointed with this one, had such high hopes for P4.

With how groundbreaking p1 / p2 was, the lack of development effort and new interesting abilities added in the phase they all promised we'd be excited for, makes this feel like they're purposely trying to kill off SOD all together. Curious if the Fire Spec Ring Rune will prevent Warlocks from having to respec away from Destruction for Molten Core with fire immunities etc. (Something I've been thinking about for awhile, and have my Affliction DPS dual-spec setup for just in case.)

People calm down and read their post, this is just a PTR, new content will be shown later Please note that while new raid content, rune discoveries, and most other new content (including new dungeon drops) will not be available, the Sunken Temple as well as all normal dungeons will be available should you wish to test dungeon runs or the previous raids with the current round of class adjustments.

Posting again to try to cut through the doomer noise. There's a new pvp event in BRD where the volcano erupts which happens every 2 hours, tough to know what the event looks like since they haven't enabled it yet and that they didn't list in the blue post. Also the list of class changes is miles long. The future of SoD is looking incredibly bright honestly. Looking forward to more content brother!

As a warlock main my biggest overall concern is the runes coming in phase 4. Hunters get Improved volley, Rogues get fan of knives and a bleed aoe, Warriors get op execute during the fight that literally gives partial rage back, mage gets arcane barrage, priests get power word shield buff that makes their healing extremely strong and vampiric touch, shamans get no cd chain lightning and summons, and what do warlocks get? A fire damage execute. The dopamine rush Im about to get from seeing immune on my screen is about to be crazy.

for the PvP event there's a timer when you go to Burning Steppes similar to the STV one, I think there is a new one coming It says "The Blackrock Eruption occurs at mightnight and every 2 hours after" There are also 2 new unes already... back and ring. But rings are just hit/ weapon skill

There is a new event at BRD where the volcano erupts, triggers every 2 hours, with some new animations as well inside the volcano. The class balancing feels really good so far as well and seems pretty thoughtful.

As a tank shaman, phase 3 absolutely sucked. Being nerfed by proxy of enhancement being too strong in pvp didnt feel very good. And so casting in melee, while tanking, in a version of the game with no cap to spell pushback, feels horrendous. And I'm not seeing anything in these changes that will fix this.

An extraction style pvp event would be really fun. Similar to Hunt Showdown. You queue into a zone at a random location with 3ish players. Have random power ups/objectives that you try to get and complete and then get out without dying.

For years now (Ian even admits this in many interviews) Blizzard is struggling to do/make things that players want. They cant seem to figure out what they want. My assumption is, and this is also the reason they are keeping incursions, they have hired too many ppl focused purely on statistics to solve that issue. Statisticly many people did incursions to leveling because it was the fastest and most efficient. Not because it was fun. Where is the statistic that measures fun? Is it something called "engagement?" I heard that word so many times by blizz devs. So they think "Wow people must really love incursions! What a massive success lets do that again!". Just like Tourghast ect. In SL so many examples of that. Its almost asif no one plays the game at Blizzard or is not listened to if they do. Wow what a surprise all the real caring people left Blizz long time ago. Sad but true isnt it?

The whole goal of SoD was to convert classic andy's back to retail. This is why they launched cata as well. SoD has just been a bloiling the frog slowly experiment. They don't want the player base split between classic and retail when the new expansion drops in retail.

just underwhelming... enh shaman really felt good regarding solo content and with maelstrom it was nice to be able to make damage in 5 man dungeon groups and being able to help out the healer with a quick heal but clearly blizzard don't want the enhancer to do hybrid stuff. those changes are really killing the hype for p4 for me: - Mental Dexterity no longer grants any +healing - Maelstrom Weapon reduced or instant cast procs may no longer be used to cast Chain Heal or Healing Wave with a reduced or instant cast time i really don't get it why they do things like it. it doesn't hurt anybody if an enhancement can throw out a heal. since p2 enhancement is bad for pvp anyways. it feels like playing retail where i need 4-8s to get max charges to throw out a lesser healing wave. nobody can tell me it was broken if a enh could use their other healing spells with maelstrom charges. it felt so good and nice but now its gone. the chain lightning cd reduce makes also no sense since when in raid lightning bolt is much stronger. i hope they get enough feedback the roll back the changes... just stupid. there are so many broken classes which excel in different situation but its too much for a hybrid class to through out a heal?

Rune changes are great from the looks of it. Incursions will be irrelevant so it's kind of a DOA change. Overall, this feels kinda like a letdown because there's like...nothing new. At all. I guess it's possible they aren't showing us everything yet, as they claim, but I'm not holding my breath for something akin to a a brand new raid or new dungeons or anything fresh, really. I'm still gonna play it, but I hope it turns out to be more exciting than it is currently looking like it'll be...

I don't get why people hate on NM incursions. Does it suck? of course! But I and most of my guild spend 12 lvls from 28-40 in SM for 3 days on p2 launch. and let me tell you: THAT SUCKED! And guess what would have happened on p3 launch? yes at least 4 more levels in SM and than 6 lvls of ZF grind. I for one definitely preferred the 6h incursion runs from 40-50.
