for paladins besides Divine steed Aegis is the biggest buff for paladins it causes Reckoning to go off without getting crit to gain reckoning stacks so they can stack the crap out of defense even more now to tank and get crit immune and still proc redoubt and reckoning

sounds like someone didn't roll with a affi lock. Demonic pact with 600+ SP buffed the group a ton. On top of that shadow bolt volley on trash with them crits. They were very good support and trash killers in ST. Edit. Anytime I was affliction in a group running logs the logs always put me as demo.

Ok... now THAT is an idea I can get behind. Giving say +10% Spell Damage to Target Debuffs to 3 or 4 classes to take into raid will 100% fix the Caster Damage issue in RAIDS... AND not effect PvP all that much. A great example of being smarter then the problem here. I like it. More of these plz! (Aka I don't want to be seeing to many VOID PLAGUE +200% Damage buffs in the future...)

Mages received some p2 rune adjustments in early/mid-March (Living Flame nerfed, a few underused/undertuned runes buffed). Other than that they have received no tuning or balancing since at least early February, and I believe even longer (p1 when they nerfed beacon healing from AoE spells?). It was assumed they’d get a rework for p4 but thus far on the PTR they just switched the gear slot for two not-used runes lol (Hot Streak won’t be relevant unless they change it to proc off Frostfire Bolt. Edit - it does look like this is the case, so that’s at least something). I honestly think at this point they’re not doing a meaningful rework and instead are hoping the new runes and tier set bonuses will suffice.

Mages is legit powercreeped out of PVP becuase of 0 tuning to them at all and the current phase4 changes do not fixes this infact making it alot worse currently in phase3 we are just chrono heal bots in battlegrounds all casters do better than Mages in PVP right now and phase4 runes dont seems like has fixed anything warlocks still having 0 sec. 30 yard fireblast they can spam while being tanky and life drain(since phase1) Spriest still remove ice barrier completey just by a instant cast dot 1st tick boomkins basically getting really fast casting + 0 mana of theirs main spell idk about ele shamans but shamans in general is just broken to the point they just break the faction balancing too becuase people reroll horde+shamans so there its not the spec that is the problem but the whole class if people are willing to do this and having +5 shamans in battlegrounds while mages has to stand still for 2.5sec. to cast something very often and now not helping warriors got deathknight´s deathgrip at this point just give us Mages casting while moving but maybe to balance it: either abit slower cast time if moved Or slower movement speed if casting becuase everyone but mages can do insane damage on the move now of all casters in PVP ice lance / arcane barrage / Fireblast is legit too weak not just in dmg but also in terms of cooldown for 2 them if warlock tanks is allowed to spam basically better fire blast mages should also have something like that if this was a fighting game Mages is the only fighting character who is unable to do combos while everyone else is able to "in theory" do a single combo that just wins the match how it feels to PVP as a mage currently

why would thorns damage increase on a balance druid be a bad thing? speaks to the me me me mindset of the only good skills being ones that benefit me for my parses! Serious question. When you look at stats at 3:39 why are you only looking at 5% of the population? Just want to point out that is not how stats work and making changes based on the top 5% and the bottom 5% is dumb because it breaks the game for all other brackets of player, in other words 95% of the players. Learn how stats work and can affect game design please. Example because people don't understand. If you nerf warrior based on the top 5% and bring them in line with other classes in the top 5% then the average warrior player will be way low on the meters breaking the game for the average player. Its very basic math.

The Shadowpriest Discord folks have evaluated the changes comming with the patch this weekend and are carefully optimistic. We expect numbers and scaling to continue to be issues we struggle with and that will repeat the eternal cycle. Shadow always had high base damage and poor scaling with both gear and buffs (low spell power mulitpliers and no crit multi scaling). Initial testing has confirmed this. That makes us strong at the start at low gear levels and even more so in PvP, but once the scaling of other classes kick in, result in us at the bottom of the meters in PvE. So the change is not where we would like shadowpriest to end up with ultimately, but my fellow shadows are very much approving that the focus of this first wave of changes is on gameplay first. We see this priotization of fixing gameplay issue over numbers as a positive sign. Shadow feels much less clunky in PvE now. Still, the ramp up is incredibly long still, so short fights and ofc scaling with sp and crit will continue to be issues that could and should be solved. But for now, we hope this ray of good luck continues to shine on a little longer.

The level of passive healing shadow priests bring warrant them not being anywhere close to the top dps as a balance measure? @@adamhenry3928 A shadow is a pure dps cookie cutter in the same manner an enhancement shaman, feral druid, ret paladin or even a gladiator stance warrior and quite a few more are. The concept of hybrid vs pure dps hasnt been a thing for quite some time now. Shadow priests healing is incredible in PvP or when mana management is an issue, but that isnt a thing right now. It isnt essential in a raid with 3 healers and most shadows would gladly sacrifice this if it meant dealing competitive raid dps. That heal is a no dmg ability we put up because we are asked to, not because we want to. Now the million dollar question to everyone that doesnt even play this class seems to be: What % of a warrior that can tank and brings raidbuffs should a shadow priest that can provide dispells and passive healing be allowed to do? Right now, on live servers, the answer is apparently 30-50% and thus ranking shadow below all tanks. Ill be real frank here, this is dogshit design.

As a shadow priest player myself if all you care about is dps you are playing the wrong class in classic, and now with VT coming back they aren’t just passively healing everyone, they are also now restoring mana, while yes still providing dispels and off heals. So no we do not need to be top dps.

@@TheComebackKids Sod isnt era classic. That is not the intention of this iteration of the game. If you think I am asking shadow to be top dog dps, you are mistaken. I did not. Neither has anyone else afaik. Let me expand on that a bit more. I like that ranged hunter, the only dps only class in the game that is left, does very good damage when played well but mediocre damage when played badly. I also dislike that melee hunter does very good damage without complexity. I think melee hunter should rank a bit lower, provide more utility to the raid, have a lower skill floor and also lower skill ceiling but offer baseline utility to allow less skilled and practiced players access to the class with a viable specc for their needs and skills. I would like shadows dps to be in line with what the specc demands of you on the one hand and ofc the utility it provides. I would however like the degree of utility to be more flexible. Sure, some core runes have to be mandatory in a meta. But utility options like Homunculi and EotV shouldnt be. Lastly I ask that no matter what arbitrary ranking you decide on, provided players of equal skill, a dps, wether they be hybrid or not, wether they bring utility or not, wether they fucked Agrends mom or not, shouldnt rank at the level of or even BELOW a tank in dps. Ever. On live servers, in phase 3 right now, that is the the case and that is, in my opionion indefensibly bad design. Ty for comming to my TED talk.

Season of Discovery P1 was amazing because it was the closest to classic. They added way too many rune slots, retail mechanics with incursions and other BS, basically invalidated everything Era had to offer, left balance in the worst state of any expansion, and deleted existing content instead of introducing new content (why delete gnomer/bfd/st instead of making something NEW to add?). They didn't need to re-work every spec and copy-paste 10 retail abilities for every single spec. They needed to do some mana tuning for off-spec casters with maybe 1 more button, give pally taunt + tank cd + crusader strike, and add new off-spec items, new rep, new dungeons, profession items, and raids. They made so much more work for themselves and completely ruined SoD's potential. So sad but it literally killed WoW for me after putting in 1000s of hours. Raided on 2-3 characters multiple expansions, multiple 60s in HC, PvP'd, and had so much fun but I just can't even log in anymore. It is nice to be touching grass and my career took off with the extra time.

Soul Siphon for warlocks still wont get used 300% is still nothing for drain soul. Lake of Fire still won't get used without the fire buff. The only win is Backdraft lasting 5 seconds longer and Mark of Chaos. Also Affi was played this phase and got numbers similar to destro, even higher if you were lucky enough to get the trinket from fel scars and a raid stacked to support you.

I'm not sure if i agree with chasing balance this strongly - this is beating the dead horse but all that classes (and their different specs) need is bringing some useful utility to a group content just so they don't disappear from rosters completely. People should be able to play what they like gameplay wise without needing to be competitive top dps on every class and every spec. Don't get me wrong, it would be great to be able to be equally "viable" dps wise with affli/demo/destruction but the historical tradeoff that was paid to achieve that is extreme class homogenization. Remember this is supposed to retain "classic feel". Also remember that warcraftlogs are only a measure of how TOP specs perform, non-top specs are misrepresented because majority of community just copy paste meta so the gap on warcraftlogs is bigger than what the spec is truly capable of, TOP players choose TOP spec, even if on paper/sims its just couple % stronger but that leads to big gap on logs between two dps specs. Also another angle to look at this from are encounter designs - so far we have trend for super short fights, there is no way to make everyone OP in this setting without homogenizing to the point where difference between destro and affli is just animation color. Would be nice if you addressed complexity of this in your journalism.

A hemo rune that can proc an out of stealth garotte. And bleeds proc 7energy per tick if they are poisoned. Make the poisons AP scaling work without using deadly brew so that there is a PvE build that doesn't just use poisons and doesn't feel terrible to not have improved poisones. Such as make an eviscerate rune that applies find weakness for CP x X seconds increasing your crit chance by 15% on the target or something So many obvious ideas

The problem with static buffs to spelldamage (shaman burn rune, druid moonkin buff) is that it doesn't scale. When other classes (for example melee) have stats like strenght,agility or attackpower stacked up, they will do more damage. But when a caster get more manaregen, intellect or spirit, nothing really happens. Having that 120 spelldamage will certainly help now. But when we progress further into the phase, they will fall behind. And we will once again see physical dmg classes top the meters without a doubt.

The truth behind SOD failing is over tuning. We wanted the meme specs viable. Not over powered, not horrible. Just viable. They way over shot themselves. Druids in era do great damage as moonkin. But they go oom too fast. Give them more mana. Not over tune every damn class.

As a warrior im really happy about the changes. Having 10% attack speed in dw gonna feel awesome with the 50% attack speed from talents already + the new abillity valor of azeroth makes warrior more useful in raids or partys. Im wondering tho if you can stack it with items that give attack speed % so u get some crazy 100% attack speed or something like that. The only thing warriors probably need is protection warriors threat. The aoe boost is great but not sure how well they do 1vs1 on bosses we have to see.

going to make my personal point as enh/spriest main Rogue still needs a party buff to make viable. As it stands we bring 1 rogue tank and 1 poison tank Feral has too many buttons to press to be top tier but necessarily not a bad thing but this is causal friendly right. Ele is bis caster dps and all the other casters are super behind. Enh is in a nice spot and where most melee should be imo Fire mage I havent played this phase but it seems like it has potential. Frost is supposed to be "pvp " spec this next phase but can pop off with bosses immune/resist. Lock aff would do super good if spriest utility applied more to the damage they do.... warrior looks bad now but scale the best and might still be top? Hunter melees has alway been a meme but if TSA was baseline then a different ballgame Balance druid is not looking good but bc the game isnt designed around pvp... Spriest could help aff lock and doesnt need to be utility for melee at all imo. Arcane mages should go full arcane/frost this phase and be full pump? Arcane is mostly healing spec but maybe make all specs god tier? 2H enh shaman only looks fun this phase bc of hand of Rag but I personally really like dual wield.

There's a dps log picture going around the hunter discord of a mage doing 2.7k dps, our testing put melee hunters at around 700 dps. We're doing a quarter of a mages damage and half of what a paladin is doing, at that point just bring kings and don't even bother with a hunter The next PTR patch had best have some drastic changes for hunter or things are looking bleak for the green

Them finally getting it with regards to warriors is a positive at the very least. We've been shouting since before SoD came out, the warrior ceiling is high enough, but the floor is abysmally low. All this class has ever needed is less dependence on other classes/buffs without increasing the maximum potential.

you know that mark of chaos rune is not a +10% for casters, it is just curse of elements+shadows mixed together and does not stack with the old debuff versions. it is only new that it now includes nature and holy dmg too

I want them to make it so that 2h specialization for Enhancement allows the shaman to use 2 imbuements on their 2h weapon. Then I want them to make it so that lava lash can be used with 2h as well. This is all in addition to the new changes. I still think it'll lag behind DW, but at least it should be much closer.

Shaman really needs a 2 rune they matches lava lash, true lave burst is available, but that doesn't proc maelstroms, and isn't so much of an increase over lightning bolt

The reason you dont see affliction warlocks on wclogs is because the best talent setup still takes ruin from the destruction tree. Ive been playing affliction warlock and i can parse 80-95s on it even with it thinking im destruction. Its not as dead as everyone says it is

Okay so they gut the 4rth best dps that can only dps and cant heal or tank to being unplayable but they're busy tuning up two handed shamans so they can kill you as fast as dual wield ones XD clown game
