I’ve just purchased a set of 700’s, I am very green with this I.e. it’s my new hobbie!! Finally this is the first video I’ve watched that actually makes sense, hence now subscribed, I wasn’t digesting all the rest but now it’s more simplified, cheers!!!!

Good Video! But all you need is a switch which is about 10 quid for Gigabit. No need to buy a router. Nice work :)

Hey, can you change the bars visual on the top of the screen like cdj2000 nexus, don’t like the pad one…

Dude - loving the video, but my nerdy picky side is coming out when I hear you say the word "router". That my friend is a switch, not a router. It's switching packets between the different devices. If it was a router, it would be routing them away from the network, say out to the internet, destined for somewhere else. But that's not what's going on here. You simply are switching the data between the 5-6 devices you have on the bench there.Sorry :)I'm a networking engineer btwKeep making the vids. They're great and I'm going to get one of these bad boys.Jon

It's a simple hub, not a switch, you don't need encapsulation, that's what a switch does, a hub just serves as a bridge for data transfer..... nerd points ....0
@johnathanthomas39886 жыл бұрын
Simple terms. A switch connects other "Network Segments" IE: servers, routers, workstations, a hub connects multiple ethernet devices.

I am thinking of getting 1 of Pioneer XDJ, but which 1...? XDJ 700 or XDJ 1000 MK2 and on the side Pioneer DDJ- XP1. XDJ 700 is less cheaper then the XDJ 1000 MK2. So, please let me know what's the difference between these 2 XDJ and is it worth buying the 1000 MK2 or better of with XDJ 700. Currently I am using 2x Technics SL 1200MK2 and simple Numark M6 4 channel mixer and now a days everything is digital so therefore I am thinking of getting in to digital dj world.

Very nice review Mike. I really like these players. Not bad for a beginner or bedroom set up. On another note, I'm looking to buy a "light console XPRS" from you. Can you ship one to me. I'm in the United States. Area code 11358. Please let me know. Thanks so much.

the only thing turning me off about these is there is no guides on the jog like the xdj 1000. it would be helpful in scratch mode.
@ashmcfcroberts6 жыл бұрын
You can use the screen to help you with the scratching

Platter too small, Pioneer could have at least left the platter position indicator light in the middle.
@DJChaosCat9 жыл бұрын
I think it was too small for that, maybe if they make another one, they might add that feature and make the platter bigger too
@strife103018 жыл бұрын
at least an led light guide like on the Denon SC5000 would be nice though

I'm using 500 GB external SSD's, which for the moment have around 13500 tracks, 320Kbps mp3's, on them, analyzed in Rekordbox. I always use one drive for each player. It works flawless. When using only one drive and the pro link to share music, playing is fine and stable, but search is a bit laggy and while tapping in letters to find a track, it'll take a few seconds before they show up on the screen. This behavior has become worse the more tracks i have, and I guess the power in the XDJ-700 is a bit limited. I normally use these drives to my NXS2 setup and the Pioneer Club setups already in place where I play, but I was positively surprised when I could use my regularly drives with no restrictions. My ''easy-to-bring'' XDJ-700/DJM-450 replaced my XDJ-R1 to which I had to have separate media because of the limitations of 10 000 tracks it' has, and the fact that is has a different export format than the rest of the XDJ's/CDJ's. The value of the XDJ-700/DJM-450 is without comparison the setup that has the best value of all setups and DJ gear I've spent money on since I started as a DJ in 1985. I got the setup used in prime condition for $1000 (11000 SEK), and it weigh a lot less than any all-in-one unit, even in a hard case. As it is modular, it is much more versatile than the all-in-one units as I can bring only the players when needed, or bring an extra deck to an existing setup. If you need to have significantly more tracks available, I'd suggest using a laptop connected to the pro link and use the export mode in Rekordbox to send/load tracks in the players. Large collections of music doesn't seem to affect the players as much in that mode. Using a big screen to look for tracks is always nice, but if there's often a lack of space for a laptop in the booth, get a small 12,5 business laptop, like the elite series from HP. Those are powerful enough to run Rekordbox fast and smooth. Upgrade the Hdd to a SSD of whatever size you need and set the ''what happens when closing the lid'' to nothing. When everything is up and running, you can tuck away the laptop and control everything from the screen on the players just as if you use USB devices, but faster. Those small business laptops usually run a whole day with a fresh battery fully loaded, so access to a power outlet is not necessary for normal 1-5 hour gigs. Just preferable :) .
