Mares can be hard to distinguish because they hunt at 40% sanity when in light and 60% when in the dark. They constantly are trying to move to get to dark rooms. Or you could get horrible hunt timing like the Spirit/Shade Onryos are annoying because the candle and cruci have different ranges, so you have to keep that in mind Also, if you hear the lightswitch click when the breaker goes off, someone overloaded it

me and my friends actually played a phasmo match once and this ghost was aggressive but not in an attacking kinda way but constantly doing events. It would go from chasing in its solid form to its shadow form to the red room and hissing at us or just standing in a corner. It turned out to be an Oni. It was doing events like every minute is what it felt like and it got to the point where it wasn't even scary and we just accepted it as a part of the team.
