Thank you for this video. In the last example, the thick-walled vessels look a lot less conspicuous than in the earlier examples. Do you agree, or am I just not looking hard enough?

I actually had two surgeries last year to remove my PHATs. I had one removed in May when they thought it was a cyst and then had a pretty quick recurrence (I believe it was residual tumour to be honest) and it was removed in October. My PHAT was in my right foot, and to this day I struggle with nerve pain and pretty well daily swelling and bruising. My suggestion for anyone who has an unusual mass would be to have it imaged early on and before surgeons start digging around. I wish the doctors had not assumed it was a cyst, I often wonder if they’d have taken a different approach, would I have as much pain, bruising and swelling today? Who knows! Regardless, the surgeons were excited to see it as it’s not common so I’m glad it was exciting for them... ha ha...

Hello, I would like to ask you if PHAT has ever been described as a paratesticular tumor. According to a pathologist, it would be the first case. thank you

I am actually a patient who had a PHAT tumor excised nearly two years ago. I am struggling to find the incidence rate of this diagnosis. This will be helpful information for new physician appointments, one of which is coming up. I do not expect her to have heard of it since every new doctor I have been to since my diagnosis is hearing of it first from me and asking for any details about the diagnosis I can give them. The only data I have found states
@JMGardnerMD6 жыл бұрын
Hi Ted. thanks for contacting me. I don't know an exact number for the incidence (not sure if anyone knows), but it is incredibly rare. I specialize in rare soft tissue tumors and I've only seen a handful of PHAT during training and practice. There surely must be more than 50 now (eventually, tumors are not reported to the literature as often, and therefore we lose count of them), but they are still very rare. Most doctors will never have heard of this disease before. Pretty much the only ones who know about it are pathologists like me who have an interest in rare soft tissue tumors. Best wishes for your health. Jerad
