First time I ever saw this video. I saw Genesis way back circa 74 in the old Atlanta Municipal auditorium. I was a newbie college kid , first concert, front row as a trainee at the college radio station next door. Seeing Lamp Lies Down on Broadway was a great intro to adulthood! LOL. The contact high there didn't hurt. Thanks Phil for a great career.

Heard this song for the first time in a very long time the other night as I was talking to a friend about my husband who passed from a drug over dose in 2020. We were apart as he had become a homeless drug addict. During a “breakup” we had in what was probably around the time this song came out, I remember him calling me saying this song was playing and it basically reflected exactly how he was feeling at the time. I’d forgotten that moment in our relationship as we were together more on than off over the course of about 30 years. But hearing this song for the first time in God knows how long brought a flood of memories back and I think Ingot yet another little sign that he is still with me. And I also forgot what an underrated Phil Collins song this is.

Chuck Norris wrote the music to this song and played it for Phil... after hearing it Chuck asked what he thought. Phil said it's great but. all you're saying is " yeah " after a couple of bars. Chuck said that it was because that was the name of the song. Phil asked if he could write some more words to the lyrics and Chuck said.. yes... as long as you leave the "yeah"
