Growing up as a young adult, I watched his show and enjoyed him immensely. Loved his body of work... RIP, Mr. Donahue. One of the last great and fair ones of journalism.

Phil Donahue was one heck of an interviewer. One of the best. A man with ample experience, who did his homework about the topic at hand, who was never afraid to ask tough questions and most of all he was a caring guy with an ample supply of COMMON SENSE!!!😊

I used to watch that show all the time. And he was a very good host, very respectful to his guests and to the opinions of the audience.

This video gave us a synopsis of Phil Donahue’s career, but it failed to explain why his death at 88 was “tragic.”

Phil Donahue was a Television Pioneer. May both he (Phil Donahue 1935-2024) and Ron Weiner (His Three Time Emmy Award Winning Director, 1930-2024) rest in peace.

I remember the time he had 2 Live Crew on his show. His show was way ahead of its time. He wasn’t afraid to cover controversial topics and talk about things other people wouldn’t cover. I wish there were more honest reporters & people like him. He didn’t sugar coat things. He tells you exactly what he thinks. I really enjoyed his show and he will definitely be missed!

I remember when he interviewed a young mother that contracted AIDS from her husband, and at that time it was a death sentence… Also the Ryan White story bringing AIDS into play… Phil Donahue was a master interviewer… He will be missed… RIP sir… Your messages live on… ❤

Donahue reengineered the talk show. The audience was in the audience. He moved them to the stage where they loomed behind him while he interrogated his victim. Very effective.

Again, you rope us in with utterly tragic death boloney. All you said about death was how he was surrounded by loved ones and even his dog, nothing wrong with that, top it off he lived till 88 yrs old! That alone is fabulous! 👎
