Dirty Den and Phil Mitchell represent EastEnders' rivalry over who is the number-one top-dog in Albert Square. Because that's who Phil is, but before him that's who Dirty Den was back in the 1980s.

In 2015 it was revealed that Phil's dad Eric knew Den, which seemed to be a retcon to a degree. Nice touch in 2015 but Den never heard of the Mitchells before his 2003 return.

Yep, as soon as Vicki said about phil slapping Sharon was the moment phil crossed the line with den. Nobody hurts his little princess and gets away with it. No doubt den could fight, but he tended to use brains over brawl and in the long run it dishes out a bigger punishment.

She did have an American accent for the first few months she came back, but it was that bad the writers changed her accent back to an English accent lol
