I remember seeing an interview of Phil with her when I was a kid on pbs. I already loved the guy.

I learned guitar from Laura Weber on Public Television in Nebraska in 1967. What a great video!

Laura Weber is the true lost PBS star. We may live in a Julia Child, This Old House, Sesame Street, and Mister Rogers' world, but Laura Weber was just as influential as them in the 1960s with her folk guitar lessons. Laura requested that her shows be destroyed or shelved forever after her death, which unfortunately KQED supposedly has gone forward with. So much valuable folk music history gone. Or blowin' in the wind shall we say.
This interview was first broadcast from San Francisco on Saturday, April 30, 1966, on KQED's Hootenanny as part of Laura Weber's series of televised folk guitar lessons, on channel 9. This is the audio from that interview with images of Laura Weber and Phil Ochs.
