A very fine and incredibly rare custom color maple-cap guitar! Weighing just 7.70 lbs., this solid alder body beauty is one of the earliest examples with a one-piece medium-to-thick profile maple neck and a maple-cap fretboard. The neck is stamped "3 MAY 66B". Three layer plastic pickguard with eight screws. Two hot Telecaster pickups with outputs of 6.54k and 7.02k and a combined bridge/tailpiece with the original chrome cover. This guitar is in exceptionally fine (9.00) condition with just a few insignificant surface marks. There is virtually no wear to the maple-cap fretboard and just a small amount of wear to the original frets which is mainly confined to the first ten frets. The Candy Apple Red finish is bright and unfaded. Original Fender black hardshell case with reddish orange plush lining (9.25).

Phil X, you never cease to not just entertain, but impress as well. You not only rock on the guitar, but you could hold your own with just about any of rock's best singers. Why you aren't more well known is beyond me. It certainly isn't for lack of talent, charisma, or passion for playing. You've got all that in spades. But maybe you prefer it that way. Keep Rockin'!

Well, I for one am glad you play to us on youtube and you serve a great purpose of bringing older guys like myself some older rock n roll from the 70s and '80s 90's, etc we grew up within the 70s and '80s and I was in the us navy over in japan from 82-89 and so the world changed on me when I got back to the states. I used to sing wanted dead or alive in a hole in the wall in Memphis, Tenn back in the early 90's. I just recently had time to start learning guitar and playing again back 2 years ago. My parents taught me a little about music in the 70's and 80 when they were going to bluegrass festivals and playing what they could. My life has always been too busy until 2015 when I had heart failure as a truck driver which made me to quit smoking and now my lungs are getting back in singing shape. Well, also I had a single bypass and stints and so I am good enough physically to play music, not really jump around but still play pretty decent right.lol

@philx1111
@philx1111 9 жыл бұрын
it's actually kind of funny so I'll personally answer. first off... it was never a shop as in the kind of shops you're used to. it was an "appointment only"/locked up tight/ring-the-doorbell kind of place. 2ndly.... there's no 2ndly. the address was readily available to anyone so it was only a matter of time before kids & fans started showing up ringing that doorbell asking to see me. well... I was only there once every 3 months to shoot the vids so it started to interfere with business not to mention FA employees having to see disappointment on the faces of those who traveled from afar. hence the move, secret location & one of the reasons we shoot at a real studio now.

Saw (o)(o)'s at my gig tonite,,Big ol' fake perfect ,mammaries too!! Came home to a new Phil X Fretted Americana vid with some new Drills,great rock & roll & the best sounding Tele i've heard in a long time! I too was born in the late 60's,1968 but i'm afraid i lived a little harder than Phil....He looks like hes in his 20's early 30's at the most! I gotta lot of respect for how he handles success between playing in top tier groups as a hired gun & saving all the fun stuff for the Drills i think its just a matter of time before The Drills blow up huge!! Phil could easily carry a stadium show.& i'm not blowing smoke either,Every song he writes could be a hit! Easily miles ahead of all these hipster dipshits who get signed & dropped in the same fucking year!! That said, keep on having fun Phil;I freaking dig you're stuff man~ Nuthin like some big ol' tiddies & beer & rock & roll!!! Have a kickass amazing day mr X!!!

The question, my take on PX's response: It's more intimate, in a performer/audience situation. Not so much a big group scene where faces blend together, but more "individualized" and thereby "intimate" and more rewarding emotionally/artistically if not (like ever) financially. _i am no psych-doc, i just play one on the internet_

I am amazed how hard it is to actually jam Pink Floyd. It's not the kind of solid guitar pieces you get from Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Deep Purple or even The Beatles in many cases. I don't think Phil learned too many Pink Floyd in his cover band period which means that Phil don't have to many Pink Floyd songs in his "archive". I think I have heard "The Wall" and "Money" though, so I am sure some Pink Floyd will appear again.
