This recreation is based on research conducted alongside Laurel Garber, The Park Family Assistant Curator of Prints and Drawings, and Tom Primeau, ‪The Charles K. Williams, II, Senior Conservator of Works of Art on Paper, in preparation for the exhibition "Mary Cassatt at Work."

Thank you for this fascinating, brilliant presentation. This brought back memories of when we were taught to make linoleum block prints in elementary school. As exciting as that seemed at the time, our childhood efforts had little in common with the neatness, precision, and artistic decisions in evidence here. Because I write letters to the men and women authors who have marked me, I’m particularly drawn to this demonstration of Mary Cassatt as artist and letter writer. Maybe I will write her a letter about what it feels like to gain a better understanding of her genius as a printmaker. ✍️
