Philadelphia Spectrum Wrestling 1986 - Hulk Hogan vs King Kong Bundy

This is from back in May/June 1986 at the Philadelphia Spectrum. Here is a continuation of the Hulk Hogan/King Kong Bundy feud . Back in the day, the WWE (WWF at the time) would run monthly shows at the Spectrum. These monthly shows continued until about 1990, after the WWE became a national power.
Here is a Main Event matchup between Hulk Hogan and King Bong Bundy, including a great pre-match promo with Bundy. Suzette Charles, who was Miss America in 1984, was also in the promo. Bundy's promo was great. Miss America's promo was hilarious. She was tripping over herself trying to trash talk.

Hulk Hogan is the greatest wrestler of all time(sorry Ric Flair fans)He changed the landscape of the WWF/E more than any other superstar from any generation.

I live and grew up in Philly and attened some old shows with Hogan during this era....awesome stuff right here the crowd is awesome.

Yes. This match was about 2 months after Wrestlemani 2. After they put together the big PPV, they had a bunch of return matches at their normal monthly venues like Boston Garden, Philly Spectrum, and Madison Square Garden.

If you look closely on Hogan's initial entrance backstage, you will see Vince McMahon directly behind him in a jersey with that same "flowed back" hair atyle...lol!!

King Kong Bundy could work the mic...I never really paid any attention to him because he was on the downturn when I was getting into it. I'm glad I found this - the "Miss America" thing was shit, though.

Hahaha...it was their attempt in the 80s to connect wrestling to main stream entertainment. My favorite moment in this was when Bundy said, "DON'T INTERRRRUPT ME CAL!!!!"

It's gonna be a very sad day. I grew up with the Spectrum and the Vet but I wan't too upset to see The Vet go. But The Spectrum! Man, that place has a lot of great history there. Monthly wrestling cards, big fight boxing matches, Flyers hockey, Sixers baseketball and let's not forget Rocky Balboa vs Apollo Creed 1 & 2!!!!

Actually Bundy encouraged her to talk more "Go ahead, tell 'em" and she came back with "Alright!" And the part about "Wouldn't we have beautiful children" always cracks me up!!! I'm glady ou enjoyed the clip!!!

I sure remember that match when they used Johnny Valiant's cigar to blind Barry Windham. A lot of great matches and memories for me growing up watching those monthly Spectrum cards.

Miss America was absolutely terrible here. The first thing she asked was who they were fighting. But her being so bad is what makes this interview even better, for me at least! They had an interview later when she was out with Paul Orndorff and once again she was horrible!

I am sure Mel was scanning the crowd thinking "Mmm... looking at all these teenage boys!" Speaking of time limits, I miss the days when the opening bout would be between to mid-carders with a 10 minute time limit and it would end in a draw and the babyface would be getting the crowd to chant "5 More Minutes" like the crowd really wanted to see two jobbers waste 5 more minutes of the show before the good bouts start!
