As Don Adams suggested, I think I'm going to send you all of my puzzling pieces, the ones I've been staring at for months with no idea how to start spinning them. OR, I can just drill a 5/16 hole into them and say: "What would Phil do?" and see what happens. Thanks, Phil! It's an uniquely beautiful piece!

Great work on this. I think one of the greatest parts though is seeing how the woodturning community comes together on KZbin to elevate each other. The fact that through this platform so many people make friends that will send turning blanks like this off to others is amazing. I'm inspired more and more each time I open KZbin to try new projects and get others into this incredible hobby and your channel is one of my favorites.

Phil...you say "I don't about this one" so many times, I don't pay attention to it anymore! This one is a prize! I don't know why but I'm always surprised by how pretty the finished creations look. Thanks to Calmwood Creations for letting Phil perform his magic on kind of a clunker looking piece of wood!

“It’s a nice piece” says Phil, the master of the understatement. The camera placement, the commentary (“it’s not for your Cheerios, it’s an art piece”), the building excitement as the shape is revealed, like a sculptor with a block of marble. This was not only your best piece. It was like a feature film! Well done!!!

Phil, you are truly the Michelangelo of wood. Your ability to both retain and reveal beauty is rare. As an artist myself, it’s honestly moving and humbling to watch. “The sculpture is already complete within the marble block, before I start my work. It is already there, I just have to chisel away the superfluous material.” ― Michelangelo

Thank You Phil, Thank You Dave, Calmwood Creations.... Very few woods come close to the beauty of a polished/finished piece of Maple Burl. Include with that burl the bark and the natural contours of the wood. Does not get much better. Phil you made a beauty! It is small, simple and beautiful with all of the bells & whistles it takes to create a unique piece. Too cool Phil & wonderful show from start to stop. TM
