With the wood being walnut, your sense of humor, & the drama of you sanding/buffing in & around the legs, this is my favorite episode. Its definitely one of my favorite of your pieces. Phil, just finished watching your turning of the sumac piece with the hole in the side made by the branch. If I was to want to sand in there I would use something like your sandoflex. I have used just a length of bolt with a slot cut in one end. I would then cut a strip of sandpaper and slip it into the slit and it makes a butterfly that will fit into small spaces.

A most excellent use of a beautiful piece of wood! Walnut is one of my favorites too. (Ipe' is another that turns well, but the sawdust is really messy & not good to breathe - mask & vacuum for sure!) Thanks for taking us on a fascinating journey of the process. Would it be too far over the top here to reference the old movie, "The Agony and the Exstacy"? 🤔

Haha, it was a challenge for sure, Geezer but so rewarding in the end. I really need to make another of these, I really like it, too! 😊

Watched this video 6 times now Phil and think it's a truly beautiful bowl. Can't help thinking though that it would have been easier if your blank was exactly suare to start with. I really love watching you turn and think you are a magician with some of the pieces you have managed to turn and still keep the bark on👍. Keep up the good work.

Thank you, Colin! It may have taken less time trying to figure it all out, but I don't think it would have been easier. Plus, it would have an entirely different look, don't you think? 😂
