HA! I clean a little more when I know people are going to see it. When we are about to have company, I always ask my kids to help clean. I always tell them "Let's fool people into believing we are not pigs"!

Great video. By that I mean it's not just for the "pros" and you describe the process so that we who aren't pro woodworkers can get it. Thanks for sharing your work. God bless you 👍🏾

Hey Phil, loved the video but I am lacking a router, is there any way to achieve this design without one?
@TranTheClever5 жыл бұрын
That came out amazing. Had to fast forward through a bit of it since I'm at work but will come back to watch it all the way through. 😉😉😁😁 you think this would be nice for outside up against a wall with plants? 3:24
@PhilCrockett5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting, my friend! ....and yes... I think it would work great for plants. Use treated lumber rated for outdoors.

did you attach the shelf to the bracket or just rest it on them? This could be done, correct? great video. as a beginner I understood most of this. Only I don't know anything about routers yet, so when you makde a place for the key bracket on back, I would have liked to have seen that a bit slower.
@PhilCrockett3 жыл бұрын
I put a very small dot of caulking on the bracket, then laid the shelf on it.

How did you mount the shelves onto the corbels? Where did you find the heavy duty keyhole brackets? Thanks!
@PhilCrockett4 жыл бұрын
I put a couple globs of caulking on the corbels. If you want to make them more permanent, you can run a screw down through the shelves, or just let them sit freely. As far as the keyhole brackets, I bought them at Lowes. If you don't have a Lowes, I'm sure you could find them on amazon. here's a link: www.amazon.com/Adiyer-Keyhole-Hangers-Hanging-Hardware/dp/B075T68CCZ/ref=sxin_4_ac_d_pm?ac_md=1-0-VW5kZXIgJDEw-ac_d_pm&crid=I5ROHQ49VSUU&cv_ct_cx=keyhole+hangers&keywords=keyhole+hangers&pd_rd_i=B075T68CCZ&pd_rd_r=d092e61c-0d40-4fdb-907c-4466fa893150&pd_rd_w=SQD0B&pd_rd_wg=mUjWd&pf_rd_p=516e6e17-ed95-417b-b7a4-ad2c7b9cbae3&pf_rd_r=JBX1VRFGXHY7RFHFFR2P&psc=1&qid=1583884733&sprefix=keyhole%2Caps%2C186

Nice design. 👍🙂 Are 18 brad nails strong enough? I would’ve driven in screws
@PhilCrockett3 жыл бұрын
You could do that as well. However, this haven't failed me yet.

What size and type of router bits did you use to install the keyhole hangers?
@PhilCrockett3 жыл бұрын
I believe the best way to answer that, is to say that I simply used a Straight Plunge Router Bit that was larger than the hanger. I didn't give measurements, because there are so many different sizes of hangers. Just use a bit that's a little larger than the hanger, OR make more passes with a small bit. Hope this helps you out, Kief!

Ho Phil, you Southpaw and I sure like watching you do nice stuff. If I tried something like this it'd be distressed all right and it'd be a COBBLE instead of a corbel. If it's anything but a 45 or 90 it's out of my league. Hope all is well at the river and the grass is growing. Maples are 4 inches across and GREEN! Have a wonderful evening and a Jesus weekend! HEY HEY LEWIE! I got to try out my new bandsaw on this project. I'm only as good as the tools I own. Rain all weekend here. Planning on hanging out in the shop.....possibly in my easy chair with the garage door open. Garden was all planted last weekend, so let it rain! Hope you have a blessed weekend as well!

@@PhilCrockett My tools are a few hammers and assorted prybars. Low maintenance! The chair and the open door sounds good. A comfortable chair and a door to the outside always sounds super good. Rain heretoo but got the mowing done beforehand so it'll wait till the sun comes back out. And when everything else fails.......go FISH! Be Blessed Yall!

if you spin the template 180 degrees moving into the void of the other side you'll use less wood. just sayin'

HA! yes.. I started out with that plan, until I realized that that technique only works with designs that are perfectly symmetrical..... but hey...... good idea, great minds think alike.

Ha! well.... I'm not in the business to sell these. I was really hoping to be more of a 'teacher'. You can make these. It's easy.... if I can do it, you can do it, Kay.
