You know there’s a lot of folks out there making woodworking videos but you have a very unique style, it’s somewhat a theatrical approach & that’s healthy, keep cranking them out 🎥🎥🔨🔨👍👍👍🍺

I’ve been very low recently and the youtube thing feels like I’m banging my head against a brick wall, the same vids on igtv mostly get 100k+ views - so yeah man, thank you words like that keep me going! Thank you 🙏 😊🙏 Hope you’re well mate!!!

Ben, not sure you will pick this up as it is now two years old. I was just reading through you subs comments and 1 thing is quite apparent, we all seem to feel the exact same way about your video's, editing skill, humor and most importantly the brilliant craftsmanship you have. Other channels without being disrespectful to them as I do enjoy others too, their audiences can be varied in their opinions. Here there is a mix of skilled, novice and want to be makers (as I am). You obviously hit a particular cord with 15000 ppl. Each time I watch I get blown away.

Great educational video! I prefer your commentary over music. Especially THAT music. It sounds like one of those sleep apps/baby sleep machines. I kept waiting for the screen to change colors! 🤣 But the video itself was top-notch! Thank you.

Beautiful video it had everything for me, I was pissing myself at the beginning then became entranced in the build process. The carpentery was exquisite, everything from the way you hold the pencil so acutely accurate the beautiful making tools, chisels and saws. Then to top it off the project was finished so well. The check in the timber must of been annoying I had the exact issue on some panels I glued up just last week for a coffee table. Thanks for sharing this experience mate all the best Karl.

Yeah I remember that now you mentioned it, I remember meaning to mention to you but cause I watch Utube on my apple TV its impossible to comment. It's due to bad drying - dried too fast. The above was from stock I milled/dried myself with too much heat to early, I'll never forget that, the kiln was next to my workshop and heard a LOUD bang which was the timber splitting in the kiln - I opened it up to find a board with a wide split in it down the length, crazy when you think of how much weight was in there that it could even move!

I decided to start at the very beginning when you first started your channel. I think I'm about 20 videos in and so far the butchers block island and this one are my favourites. Your best comment so far, which made me laugh so much that i couldn't speak for 20 minutes, due to a sore throat which probably pleased my wife was; "Those dam bats." I'll not spoil it for those who like to read the comments before watching. So funny, mate, so funny. It's not my finest work for sure. I'll fix that later. Just blame it on the bats, fella. In fact, blame everything on those dam bats! 😂😂😂 Do you know what. The only thing missing when i watch this video is the insence sticks burning patchouli oil and the occasional sound of Harry Krishnas finger symbols clanging in the background.🤭 I fell asleep three times and had to start the video twice in the first 8 minutes over 2 hours. 😂 I woke up thinking, where am i, what happened to the video i was watching?😂😂😂 Were you smoking something weedy, or squidgy and black, when you did the editing and voice-over? Because if you were, please don't give it up.😝 Just because you had a good trip, you did say that was a trip, right? Smoking is bad for you. I should know because I suffer from Emphysema (COPD) after smoking everything under the sun for 40 years.😢 But it was worth it at the time🤪
@HewAndAwe
@HewAndAwe 10 ай бұрын
Lmfao!!! So few got that vid, I remember a few going on “bats?” Wtf. I guess I’m “Too weird to live, too rare to die!” 😂 edits like that happen when I’m happy and free of crap thoughts, seldom happens these days. 😏

Looks great. How do you screw it to the wall now with the center brace in the way?
@HewAndAwe
@HewAndAwe 2 жыл бұрын
I cant remember now I think it was a bolt behind the centre brace and one below using a ratchet. The bolts I mean when tighten they expand cant remember what theyre called but they can hold a shit load of weight! Anchor bolts I think.
