@@e46t people don't understand that it's the tyres that are the deciding factor regards braking, your ability to slow/stop? This notion that discs improve braking is just BS, a marketing mans wet dream as to how gullible people are, then they go on to state falsely that xx (it can refer to almost anything) is better because it's purchase justification. Discs/supposed improvement tech lull riders and most drivers into making more errors in judgment, reduced thinking time believing they can brake later or from a higher speed. We see no change in crashes in the pro ranks with discs, Ineos seem to have no problem braking in the wet with carbon rims on the steep descents, how many times have we seen riders wipe out with disc braked bikes because the tyres let go, hundreds.

Smart call. Those climbs in those temps are no joke. I had my worst ever ride experience on Decker Rd, a few clicks further up PCH. I finished the bulk of the climb, then began feeling dizzy, with my chest pounding and vision narrowing. I stopped and straddled my bike with my head resting on the handlebars for some 15 minutes, slowly breathing in and out, wondering if I just had a heart attack. I was afraid to dismount, fearing I wouldn't be able to get back on.
