From the very first notes of this Brahms music conducted by Kent Nagano, I knew that Kent Nagano is one of the the greatest Brahms interpreters of all time. I just wonder how he managed to get the musicians to play the Brahms music with such poetic singing phrasing. This interpretation of the Brahms Serenade proves how all other conductors simply do not have enough talent for Brahms. The pure, crystalline and airy sound, the musical phrasing of each instrument and the balance between the different instruments demonstrate Kent Nagano's ability to mesmerize an orchestra to play a heavenly music that so played can only be heard in heaven. The entire orchestra is a group of individual, first-class musicians who play together in musical purity and technical perfection like no one has heard before Last, but not least the sound engineer on this recording also made a significant contribution to the sound of this recording.

Nagano is a great conductor, but I think you should give a little credit to the musicians. If they didn't go into this with the intention of playing it so well, there's no amount of conductor talent that would have made it sound good. Everyone here is bringing 100% of their ability and it really shows. What an outstanding performance!

Why does the first bassoonist have a tag on his bocal ? Great overall performance, but unnerving how far behind the conductor‘s beat the ensemble plays …

Looks like he is trying on a new one. That is the label of the factory, usually removed once the bocal is bought.
